The Digital Modernization Sector at Leidos currently has an opening for a Pega System Architect to work in our Maryland office. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience helping the US government customer operate, maintain, modernize and transform its legacy system.
Primary Responsibilities:
The Pega System Architect designs, develops, and implements applications using the Pega low-code platform to streamline business processes.
Responsibilities shall include, but are not limited to:
Ability to use Pega to design and build for reusability across multiple lines of business.
Apply best practices, understanding application debugging and performance tuning, and addressing security/access requirements in an application.
Gather business requirements, configuring Pega rules and workflows, integrating with the existing legacy and enterprise systems, and ensuring the scalability and performance of the application.
Configure Pega case management, rules, and workflows to automate and optimize business processes.
Provide technical guidance, mentor and support development teams.
Acts as the primary communication point, translating business objectives into actionable requirements for developers and explaining technical constraints to business users.
Analyze business requirements, define architectural strategy, design, build, and implement solutions using the Pega platform.
Work with business analysts, stakeholders, and developers to translate business needs into technical solutions.
Support accurate and transparent SLA/TPM/KPI metric reporting.
Reduce redundancies and implement improvements using industry standard processes.
Enhance performance with automation, AIOps and scalability methods.
Manage functional requirements throughout the software development lifecycle and participate in Agile/Scrum processes, including sprint planning and backlog grooming.
Collaborates with technology teams to design solutions that meet business objectives, often involving creating process flows, use cases, and wireframes.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems or technical equivalent, 4 – 8 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2 – 6 years of prior relevant experience.
Certified Pega Senior System Architect (CSSA) or Certified Pega Lead System Architect (LSA) certification.
Minimum 10 years of programming experience with Pega Platform.
At least 2 years as a Pega architect in a Pega Cloud development environment.
Demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, streamline workflows, and support data-informed task execution.
A solid understanding of AI capabilities and limitations including ethical considerations is expected.
Experience in defining new architectures and ability to drive an independent project from an architectural standpoint.
Experience working within an Agile environment as a Dev Lead on a Scrum or team construct.
Knowledge of integrating Pega applications with enterprise level APIs and data service.
Strong background in business analysis, requirements gathering, and use case development.
Experience working in a software development environment, preferably with Pega, and a strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
Proficiency with the Pega Platform, including Pega PRPC and related integration technologies.
Experience in enterprise-grade application development.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
Ability to obtain Public Trust.

Experience with Pega Blueprint
Experience with SAFe
CRM migration experience
Certified AWS Architect
Data Quality and validation experience
Experience working on US government contracts
Experience with Pega Customer Service
