Role: Payroll Administrator and Tax Specialist for Asia region.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate all aspects of an outsourced Payroll to ensure timely and accurate processing of payments, benefits, statutory contributions and income tax.
- Perform pre and post audit / reconciliation of payroll confirmation processes, gross to net totals, YTD accumulations, disbursements, etc.
- Create and maintain Payroll Operations and Tax Reporting calendars / schedules.
- Liaise with Human Resources, Benefits, Executive Comp and HRIS teams.
- Ensure compliance with local practices and regulations.
- Ensure end-to-end processes and audit steps are adhered to from HR data capture through gross to net payments, and the hand-off to Finance for recording in the general ledger.
- Partner with Finance and payroll vendor to ensure the accurate distributions and accounting for Payrolls and maintenance of the Payroll Account Master.
- Partner with Corporate Tax to ensure appropriate tax reporting, withholding, and remittance is applied to Payroll payments and deductions.
- Ensure payroll tax payments and withholdings are in compliance with applicable local legislation.
- Lead monthly and year-end activities and payment / wage and tax reconciliation with local Government agencies.
- Review and ensure appropriate approvals are received for special check requests, year to date adjustments, journal entries, wire transfers, Inter-company Transfers, etc.
- Coordinate all phases of yearend/year begin responsibilities which includes employee and employer Year End Tax Forms, Equity, CRD, and Bonus issuances and payments.
- Analyze current departmental processes to ensure performance is at optimal level. Propose changes, enhancements to facilitate process improvements and optimize efficiencies where deemed necessary.
- Maintain and update Payroll User guide and work flow documents.
- Assist with the coordination of Internal and External Audits. Includes reporting and analyzing process flows and procedural changes to ensure compliance with firm policies and statutory mandates.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of Finance Payroll Administration and Payroll Tax expertise in Asia region.
- Understanding of country level legislation, regulation, and practices across Asia region.
- Understanding of tax and other relevant statutory regulations for payroll.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills coupled with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Fluency in English, Cantonese and Mandarin (Written and Spoken) – Other Asia languages would be highly advantageous.
- Experience working with Workday.
- Proficiency in MS Office with strong MS Excel skills.
- Ability to manage vendor relationships.
- Attention to details will be essential.
- Degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred.
