POSITION PURPOSE
Responsible for coordinating the patient shuttle vans and transportation needs of patients of MercyOne Clinton / MercyOne Genesis to/from facilities throughout MercyOne Eastern Iowa Region.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Adheres to the principles of caring and expected behaviors outlined in MercyOne Medical Center ‘s Care Model and Trinity Health’s Code of Conduct, fostering a climate where all customers are treated in a manner consistent with MercyOne Medical Center’s Mission and Values.
Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State and local laws and regulations, Trinity Health’s Organizational Integrity Program, Standards of Conduct, as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical and professional behavior.
Maintains the schedule of transportation needs for patients needing transportation to and from appointment and from medical center discharge.
Communicates appropriately with the driver on pick up / drop off times and locations for patients.
Performs other duties consistent with purpose of job as directed.

Maintains a professional, collaborative work environment so as to foster a positive public image for MercyOne Clinton Medical Center.
Knows and adheres to all laws and regulations pertaining to patient health, safety and medical information (i.e. HIPAA, Stark, etc.)
Must exhibit independent thinking in performing job functions.
Must possess the ability to effectively and courteously communicate with customers and members of the pharmacy, medical and hospital staff.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be 18 years of age with high school degree or equivalent.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Must possess the ability to comply with Trinity Health policies and procedures.
In an 8-hour day, employees may sit, stand, and /or walk 6-8 hours.
Mobility, dexterity, fine motor skills and ability to use hands in repetitive motion tasks, such as grasping and fine manipulating are required.
Frequent (21%-50% of worktime) bending, stopping, reaching above shoulder level and pushing and pulling.
Must be able to see at a near visual acuity level.
Must be able to hear speech.
Frequent (21%-50% of worktime) lifting and carrying objects weighing 35 lbs. or less.
Occasional (6%-10% of worktime) squatting, climbing 2 feet and balancing.
Must adhere to applicable organizational requirements on an annual basis for Employee Health Directives.
