Partner Team Member Relations

Reporting to the Director of Team Member and Labor Relations, the Partner Team Member Relations (Partner TMR) assists with Team Member and Labor relations matters related to policies, procedures, and bargaining agreements. The Partner TMR acts as an advisor to all operating departments and has a full understanding of the policies, procedures, benefits, service culture, mission, values, and bargaining agreements of the company and accurately relays this information to team members through a variety of channels.

Core Job Responsibilities:

  • Handles routine team member relations, labor relations, and human resources inquiries related to policies, procedures, and bargaining agreements; refers complex matters to appropriate management staff.
  • Conducts interviews and gathers information for team member relations matters such as harassment allegations, work complaints, or other concerns; informs appropriate HR staff when additional investigation is required.
  • Manages the grievance process by collaborating with Union partners to resolve grievances in a timely manner while maintaining all appropriate records.
  • Assists with recordkeeping related to hiring, termination, leave, transfer, and promotion particularly related to Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and company policies and procedures.
  • Collects information and data to assess cost and policy implications of negotiations and disputes.
  • Conducts interviews and other research related to human resource policies, compensation, and other labor negotiations; collects information and reports results to Human Resources Leadership.
  • Assist with the processing and administration of all leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork: medical, personal, disability and FMLA.
  • Effectively interprets FMLA and ADA implications as they relate to leaves of absences/disabilities.
  • Assists with preparation of plans, policies, documents, and reports including but not limited to EEO-1, organizational charts, labor agreements, and team member handbook.
  • Assists with the preparation of documents and records required for contract negotiations, meetings, and negotiations with team member and labor organizations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Must be 21 years or older.
  • Associate’s degree in human resources, Business or Related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • At least two (2) years of relevant experience in human resources administration required with experience in team member and/or labor relations preferred. Three (3) years of experience is preferred.
  • Spanish bilingual preferred.
  • Must remain confidential and professional at all times.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent time management skills with the proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Thorough understanding of laws, regulations, and guidelines related to HR and contract negotiations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Excellent customer service skills and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all business contacts.

Physical Demands:

  • Work is performed in a hotel/resort setting.
  • Must be tolerant of varying conditions of noise level, temperature, illumination, and air quality.
  • May be exposed to smoke.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
  • Constant contact with executives, department management, team members, and guests.
  • Prolonged sitting or standing and mobility.
  • Balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, repetitive motions Lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects and/or move up to 75 pounds occasionally.
  • Eye/hand coordination.
  • Use of standard office equipment.
  • Ability to distinguish letters, numbers, and symbols.
  • May be required to work evening, weekends, and holiday shifts.
