The School of Art, Design and Media (ADM) at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, invites qualified candidates to apply as Part-time Lecturer for DT2005 Lighting and Rendering Pipeline course. The Part-time Lecturer is expected to teach an undergraduate course commencing in January 2026.
This 13-week course is an introductory module for Year 2 and 3 undergraduates. It introduces the fundamental processes and techniques of lighting and rendering in 3D using software such as Autodesk Maya with the Arnold renderer (and selected complementary tools). Students will apply their learning by creating original computer-generated imagery to explore how lighting and rendering shape the emotional ambience of a scene. This learning forms the foundation for further studies in Visual Effects and 3D Animation.
Candidates should have at least a Master’s and/or PhD in Digital Animation, Digital Effects, or a related field, with a track record of production and creative practice in new media. Prior teaching experience at the undergraduate level is preferred. Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in Digital Animation and/or Digital Effects and sufficient, relevant industry experience may also be considered in exceptional cases.
