Part-Time Lecturer in DN1016 Visual Storytelling (Foundation 4D)

The School of Art, Design, and Media (ADM) at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, invites qualified candidates to apply as DN1016 Visual Storytelling. The Part-time Lecturer is expected to teach an undergraduate course in January 2026.

This 13-week course introduces students to basic concepts of to concepts of sequential storytelling through images. Building from the understanding of visual storytelling within a single image, you will learn how to construct linear and non-linear narratives by arranging and connecting images in sequence.  The course content will include introductions to narrative techniques in film, photography, animation, and comics. Through this course, you will become familiar with basic concepts of composition, storyboarding, editing, sound, and cinematography.

Applicants should be highly knowledgeable and proficient with Adobe Photoshop, After Effects and Premiere. Successful candidates will have a Masters and/or PhD in Fine Art or other relevant subject, a track record of exhibitions or industry experience, and past teaching experience at Undergraduate Level.

Preference will be given to candidates having an active artistic and design practice that demonstrates versatility in time-based art and design practice (e.g. Photography, Illustration/Digital Painting, Film, Motion Graphics, Animation).
