$46.55 - $69.85The APP is a patient-centered, system-oriented teammate who manages the care of all patients within the Acute Care Surgery clinic setting. The APP is an integral part of an interdisciplinary team to perform assigned clinic duties, while displaying the highest standards of ethical and moral conduct as well as acting in the best interest of Atrium Health, supporting our mission, vision and values.
The successful candidate should be able to:
perform a thorough history and physical assessment, then develop a treatment plan for surgical patients
independently evaluate new patient consults, follow ups, and post-operative patients in clinic 4 days per week and screen referrals for appropriateness
document all patient encounters, record observations, interventions, and actions in a timely and medically appropriate manner on the patient's medical record
act as a patient and family advocate for the population served
participates in continuous quality improvement priorities, service delivery processes, and service excellence initiatives
adhere to access & productivity policies & protocols to ensure that patients’ access to convenient care is optimized
adhere to standards and care protocols to deliver appropriate, innovative and cost-effective care management in-person and virtually
adhere to Medical Group Minimum Work Standards
Currently in the Acute Care Surgical Division , there are 11 surgeons and 6 APPs. Services are provided at Atrium Charlotte - a 874 bed, tertiary/quaternary care hospital, Atrium Mercy- 185 bed hospital, and Atrium Pineville- a 307 bed facility. Our clinics occur at both our Pineville campus and our Morehead Medical Plaza campus.

Education, Experience and Certifications
Must:
have or be eligible for a DEA license
Be approved to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state in which one works.
eligible for prescriptive authority application through the Board of Nursing or Medical Board in NC required
Be approved as a BLS for Healthcare Provider from AHA with expiration date greater than 90 days from date of beginning practice.
demonstrate appropriate critical thinking, interpersonal skills, and the ability to prioritize and make proactive decisions.
Nurse Practitioner: Master’s Degree or Doctorate of Nursing Practice required. License to practice as a Registered Nurse required. Certification in the area of practice from a nationally recognized certifying body required. Acute Care board certification required based upon population and acuity served.
Physician Assistant: Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program required, master’s degree preferred. Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants preferred.
