Oracle Database Administrator
Job Description:
Oracle Database Administrator will be responsible for supporting, maintaining, and optimizing Oracle database environments across both on-premises and Azure cloud platforms. This role will involve assisting in database installations, configurations, monitoring, and troubleshooting, while providing documentation for routine database maintenance and recovery procedures. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, and eager to learn and grow within a dynamic IT team.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Oracle database systems on on-premises and Azure cloud environments.
Monitor database performance and proactively resolve issues to ensure reliability and optimal operation.
Support data backup, restoration, and disaster recovery processes, following best practices and organizational policies.
Maintain and update comprehensive documentation for database procedures, configurations, and recovery plans.
Collaborate with IT and other departments to ensure database solutions align with business objectives and compliance requirements.
Participate in routine database health checks and recovery exercises to verify the effectiveness of recovery plans.
Assist in implementing security measures and compliance controls, with a focus on data protection and privacy.
Contribute to troubleshooting and resolving incidents related to database availability, performance, and security.
Stay current with evolving database technologies and best practices, recommending improvements as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
3-5 years of experience in database administration, with a focus on Oracle databases.
Experience with Azure cloud services related to database hosting, migration, or management.
Strong understanding of database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery concepts.
Familiarity with industry standards and best practices for database management and data protection.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Certifications in relevant technologies (e.g., Oracle Certified Associate, Microsoft Azure) are a plus.
