Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance, Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Standards, Cleanroom: no hair products, jewelry, makeup, nail polish, perfume, exposed piercings, facial hair etc... allowed, Cold Room/Freezers -22degreesF/-6degrees C, Fluctuating Temps hot/cold, Laboratory Setting, Loud Noises (Equipment/Machinery), Some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs etc.), Strong Odors (chemical, lubricants, biological products etc.), Various outside weather conditions, Warehouse, Will work with hazardous/toxic materials

Location/Division Specific Information:

Frederick, MD site crucial to Thermo Fisher's operation, assisting 5 Business Groups and various Divisions.

Shift Information

Days /1st Shift: Monday - Friday 6am-2:30pm (overtime as needed)

How Will You Make an Impact?:

As a member of a manufacturing team, the Manufacturing Operator ensures safe and timely production of life-saving products.

A Day in the Life:

  • Work within a manufacturing environment both individually and within a team to ensure customers receive a product that exceeds quality specifications.
  • Communicate with several work groups to ensure the completion of daily production.
  • Work in both standard and clean room environments while adhering to area-specific PPE requirements.
  • Safely operate manual and automated filling equipment.
  • Safely operate pallet jacks.
  • Handle and process materials that are in temperature sensitive conditions in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • May be required to safely operate a 26’ foot box truck and transit vehicle.

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent experience required.

Experience:

  • 1 year of professional experience in a manufacturing, operations, production, lab environment, or a related industry preferred
  • Desired: Background in a cGMP setting

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of the metric system, and ability to perform conversions.
  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures and cGMP’s.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

  • Ability to lift 25-50 pounds.
  • Able to work in normal to extreme conditions: Ambient, Cold Room (2-8°F), Freezer (-20°F), and Ultra Cold (-80°F).

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in Maryland is $16.78–$25.16.
