Wellways is committed to reconciliation, lived experience and inclusivity. We strongly encourage and warmly welcome people from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, people with a lived experience of mental health and disability and people who identify as LGBTIQA+ to apply. Even if you only meet some of the criteria, we’d love to hear from you.
About the Program
The Mental Health and Wellbeing Locals are an important part of Victoria’s reformed mental health and wellbeing system. The Victorian Government has committed to establishing 50 Mental Health and Wellbeing Locals. In East Gippsland, Wellways, Latrobe Regional Health and Gippsland Lakes Complete Health are working together to offer an easy way to get treatment, care and support for people aged 26 years and over who are experiencing mental health concerns, including people with cooccurring alcohol and drug treatment and care needs and their family, carers, and supporters. Mental Health and Wellbeing Locals are free, voluntary, and easy to access, with no referral required. Importantly, these new services will be delivered on the basis of ‘how can we help?’ and a ‘no wrong door’ approach, focused on giving choice and control over how the consumer wants to receive support.
About this Opportunity
This is a key senior leadership role with the opportunity to shape how mental health and wellbeing services are delivered across the East Gippsland community. You’ll lead a large, multidisciplinary team focused on delivering holistic, person-centred care that truly makes a difference for consumers, carers, and the wider community.
Your ability to inspire, support, and motivate others will be essential as you guide your team through growth and change. You'll bring strong coaching and leadership skills to build a collaborative, values-driven culture from the ground up. As this is a newly established operation, we’re looking for someone who’s agile, proactive, and future focused ready to balance day to day operations with strategic direction and people leadership.
If you're a purpose driven leader with a passion for mental health and wellbeing, we’d love to hear from you.
