In this role, you’re expected to:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Lead Business Analyst and Project Manager to drive critical client onboarding projects within Funds Services Change function, with domain knowledge on Transfer Agency business. Reporting directly to the Head of Client Strategic Projects APAC, this C13 role is pivotal in delivering seamless client integrations into Citi Funds Services.
This highly visible position requires technical Transfer Agency expertise, sound analytical capabilities, and proven project leadership. The successful candidate will act as a Change Lead, driving client conversations, orchestrating operating model design in collaboration with Operations and Product Partners, and ensuring successful execution across the entire onboarding lifecycle. The role demands strong cross-functional collaboration with internal Product, Operations, Technology teams, and external vendor partners.
As a Lead Business Analyst and Project Manager, you will deliver:
- Strategic Client Engagement & Operating Model Design:
- Lead and facilitate client workshops and stakeholder sessions to elicit, document, and define Key Business Requirements (KBRs) and Business Requirements Documents (BRDs).
- Design and develop comprehensive operating models in close consultation with clients, TA Operations, and TA Product teams, ensuring alignment with client needs and Citi's capabilities.
- Drive client conversations and serve as the primary point of contact for Transfer Agency onboarding scope, expectations, and issue resolution.
- End-to-End Project Delivery & Management:
- Develop and manage detailed project plans and runbooks specifically for TA onboarding streams, working in close collaboration with Program Managers for overall program alignment.
- Manage deliverables to ensure project milestones are met.
- Adhere to program processes, procedures, methods, and standards for program delivery, ensuring governance and consistency.
- Proactively identify, assess, and manage project risks and issues, escalating to the program and relevant stakeholders in a timely manner.
- Advanced Business Analysis & Data Management:
- Provide expert oversight and guidance to Data BAs, assisting with and reviewing data BRDs, data analysis, and data cleansing strategies.
- Lead the review and resolution of complex data reconciliation discrepancies and challenges, ensuring data integrity throughout migration.
- Provide expertise and analytical support in the identification and resolution of complex operational and system issues.
- Quality Assurance & Operational Readiness:
- Lead the planning and definition of comprehensive test strategies and associated testing efforts for TA onboarding.
- Ensure essential procedures are followed and contribute to defining best practices and standards for operational readiness.
- Conduct final oversight and sign-off for fund setup in core systems (e.g., PAXUS) and all associated ancillary systems.
- Support Data BAs during data loading processes into test and production environments, ensuring accuracy and successful integration.
- Stakeholder & Vendor Management:
- Work closely with Technology and vendor partners to accurately map business requirements to technical solutions.
- Effectively communicate and translate complex issues and requirements to diverse stakeholders, including senior management and technical teams.
As a successful candidate, you’d ideally have the following skills and exposure:
- Minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience in Transfer Agency, Funds Services, or a similar Business Analysis/Project Management role within financial services.
- Proven track record in defining operational processes, leading system deployments, and/or managing complex client migrations.
- Demonstrated experience as a Business Analyst on large-scale projects or programs, with expertise in data analysis, mapping, and reconciliation
- Exceptional Communication: Superior verbal, written, and presentation skills, with proven ability to engage, influence, and negotiate effectively with senior stakeholders and clients
- Analytical Acumen: Strong capability to analyse and solve complex business problems, translating intricate details into clear, actionable insights for diverse audiences.
- Project Management: Solid understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., PMBOK standards, PMP/ Prince2 certification is advantageous) and practical experience in managing project lifecycles.
- Domain Expertise: Demonstrated awareness and experience within Transfer Agency.
- Leadership & Influence: Ability to manage deliverables through direct and indirect leadership, fostering collaboration and accountability across teams.
- Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail.
- Proactive, solutions-oriented, and capable of working effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain working relationships across all levels.
