What you'll do:
- Experience in troubleshooting and resolving complex issues related to infrastructure, installation, configuration, deployment release and promotion processes ,procedures and application performance
- Collaborate closely with development and QA teams to support product installation and configuration
- Collaboration with others in Operations and development teams to triage software application issues within multiple time zones to ensure fast turnaround times on incident management and resolution
- Conduct incident management post-mortem analysis, and implement preventive measures to mitigate future incidents.
- Implement automation initiatives to streamline deployment, monitoring, and maintenance processes and tools .
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to optimize efficiency and minimize downtime.
- Manage the installation, configuration and upgrade of third party products and open source solutions
- Ability to develop and propose alternative approaches or strategies to address identified gaps and improve overall performance.
- Participate in discussions for implementation of recommended solutions, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems and processes
- Provide support to team members on best practices for solution improvement and innovation to ensure effective collaboration and high performance
- Schedule and Participate in the Operations on-call 24 x7 rotation schedule
- When needed, active participation in critical problem resolution outside of typical working hours
- An employee may perform duties outside of their normal responsibilities as needed
Technical Expertise:
- Experience with CI/CD tools (Subversion, Git, Azure DevOps, SaltStack) and ability to design and optimize pipelines.
- Experience monitoring, configuring, managing, deploying, and upgrading servers and software across internal, customer-facing, and production environments.
- Experience with RDS database applications (Oracle, MySQL), including administration tools and performance optimization.
- Deep understanding of networking, security, and monitoring principles for enterprise-scale systems.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform) for automated provisioning and configuration.
- Software development experience on Linux platforms using common scripting languages (Perl, Python, Groovy, Ruby, bash).
- Proficiency in cloud platform tools such as AWS Cloud Services, CloudTrail, Lambda, System Manager, and Disaster Recovery Solutions.
- Leadership & Collaboration
- Ability to work independently and lead resolution of complex, cross-functional issues.
- Proven collaboration skills, including written and verbal communication with internal and external stakeholders across multiple time zones.
- Demonstrated self-sufficiency in problem investigation and resolution, with capacity to influence technical direction.
- Experience with Agile and product management methodologies and tools.
- Ability to coordinate team efforts, assign tasks collectively, and foster team learning.
- Strategic Problem-Solving
- Strong decision-making skills under ambiguity and ability to prioritize effectively.
- Capability to represent technical solutions in strategic discussions and communicate complex concepts to non-technical audiences.
Desirable:
- Specialized Tools & Platforms
- Familiarity with Kibana, JIRA, and Remedy for monitoring and workflow management.
- Experience with Logstash and Elastic for observability and analytics.
- Experience with Tuxedo is strongly preferred.
- Advanced Practices
- Expertise in designing resilient systems, performance optimization, and security best practices.
- Experience defining automation strategies and disaster recovery plans.
- Familiarity with caching concepts, network and infrastructure models.
- Leadership Development
- Ability to mentor and coach junior and mid-level engineers.
- Experience developing training programs and fostering knowledge sharing across teams
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering (Electrical, Software, or Telecommunications) or a related field.
- Minimum 8 - 10 years’ experience with development and release processes
- AWS certification is preferred but not required
