Oncology Program Specialist

Job Description Summary:

This position works directly with the oncology system, imaging, pathology, support services, and providers to coordinate and host the OhioHealth Tumor Boards. This position has accountability to plan and facilitate meetings, facilitate ongoing projects in the Oncology service line, and execution of project plans in collaboration with the Oncology Program Manager. This position ensures ongoing compliance with various accrediting bodies, including The Commission on Cancer, and The Joint Commission. As part of the responsibilities of program lead, this associate will assume the allowed two roles on the Cancer Committee.

This position assists in maintaining operations of the Integrative Care Clinic, including the tracking, analyzing, and reporting of data to system and care site leadership. This associate participates in regular quality improvement initiatives at the care site, division, and department level. Alongside the Oncology Program Manager, this associate will be responsible for understanding the oncology market and seek opportunities for program development.

Responsibilities And Duties:

50% Tumor Board Coordination:
Compile material for the care site’s Tumor Boards- collect all required documentation for cases to be presented, prepare, and distribute agendas, act as physician liaison for any questions/concerns.
Attend all tumor board sessions, ensure meetings stay on schedule, prioritize case order for presentation, collect and present required regulatory documentation from meetings, and send meeting minutes.
Work with the Oncology Service Line to facilitate any Tumor Board projects and updates.

40% Process improvement, project management/special projects:
Track, analyze, and report program data for leadership to assist in quality improvement.
Collaborate with others to ensure credentialing compliance and fulfillment of regulatory needs in the Integrative Care Clinic.
Assist with operations and program development for the Integrative Care Clinic.
Attend oncology program events with the Oncology Program Manager. This associate is responsible for participation in Cancer Committee by assuming two allowed roles in accordance with the Commission on Cancer.

Bachelor's Degree (Required)

  • Ability to manage crucial conversations with a multidisciplinary team and escalate issues as needed for resolution
