Job Title: Oncology Education Associate

Department: Commercial

Location: Australia (remote)

Reports To: National Sales Manager - Oncology

Job Purpose: The Oncology Education Associate (OEA) is a field-based position with a key role in educating nurses and other health professionals working within the Hematology and Oncology therapeutic areas.   The OEA will provide practical education in the therapeutic area cancer and disease management care to improve patient outcomes. By providing answers based on individual needs and facilitating training sessions to healthcare professionals (HCPs), and other key stakeholders involved in the treatment of various diseases, the OEA will help improve patient outcomes by addressing important unmet medical needs.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Educate health care professionals in the cancer therapeutic area
  • Maintains and continues to assess and understand customer educational needs.
  • Development of educational disease state content that addresses the need.
  • Replicates content from other affiliates should it be applicable 
  • Ability and willingness to regularly travel inter and intra state to deliver content in face to face sessions where preferred.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Stimulate community action to improve disease management and patient outcomes.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of disease states, treatment options, and best practices in patient education.
  • Document and report on HCP interactions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Nursing, Pharmacy, Public Health).
  • Practical experience in the cancer therapeutic area.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of disease management and treatment options.
  • Proficiency in using technology for education and documentation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree (e.g., Master's, PharmD, RN).
  • Experience in a field-based role.
  • Familiarity with the healthcare system and patient treatment pathways in cancer.

  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in using technology for patient education, documentation, and reporting.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyse interactions and outcomes to improve education strategies.
  • Empathy: Demonstrates empathy and understanding towards health care providers.
  • Motivational Skills: Ability to motivate and encourage health care providers to attend educational sessions.
