Job Title: Data Scientist: Customer Insights & Omnichannel Intelligence Analyst
Location: Remote, United States (travel required)
 

Position Overview

The Customer Insights & Omnichannel Intelligence Analyst plays a key role in transforming complex customer data into strategic insights that drive marketing performance, enhance customer experience, and improve operational efficiency. Working at the intersection of data science, marketing analytics, and business strategy, this role builds predictive models, designs experiments, and delivers actionable intelligence to support growth across a dynamic omnichannel retail environment.

Area of Responsibility

  • Analyze behavioral, transactional, demographic, and engagement data across digital and in-store channels to understand customer journeys, segmentation, and lifetime value.

  • Build and refine marketing attribution and ROI models to connect customer behavior and sales performance to campaigns (email, paid media, loyalty, etc.).

  • Integrate and align data across ecommerce, mobile app, CRM, POS, and loyalty platforms to create a unified view of customer activity and business impact.

  • Develop machine learning models and advanced analytics to forecast trends, recommend next-best-actions, and optimize campaigns and promotions.

  • Design and analyze A/B and multivariate experiments using uplift modeling and causal inference techniques.

  • Collaborate with marketing, ecommerce, merchandising, operations, and executive teams to translate data findings into strategy, priorities, and performance dashboards.

  • Create compelling visualizations and presentations to communicate insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Evaluate third-party data sources and platforms for predictive value and integration opportunities.

  • Document data sources, definitions, models, and strategies for transparency and reproducibility.

  • Apply innovative analytical approaches to drive business impact and support decision-making.

Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in Statistics, Operations Research, Economics, Engineering, Data Science, or related quantitative field.

  • 3–5 years of experience in predictive analytics, data analysis, or business intelligence, ideally in retail, ecommerce, or consumer-facing environments.

  • High proficiency in SAS (Base SAS and SAS Enterprise Miner certifications preferred).

  • Experience with R, SQL, Python, or other analytical tools.

  • Familiarity with data visualization platforms such as Tableau or Power BI.

  • Strong skills in Excel and Microsoft Office.

  • Experience in marketing analytics, customer segmentation, and attribution modeling.

  • Understanding of omnichannel retail ecosystems and customer data platforms (CDPs).

  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, AWS, GCP) is a plus.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to bridge technical and business domains.

  • Intellectual curiosity, strategic thinking, and a passion for data-driven decision-making.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with CRM systems or loyalty program data.

  • Familiarity with retail KPIs such as sell-through, basket size, foot traffic, ROAS, and channel attribution.

  • Knowledge of MLOps, dashboard automation, or API-based data workflows.
