We currently have two openings at Snake River Correctional Institution for a temp Office Specialist 2. These positions are expected last 3-4 months.

About the Job – Your Role

Your primary duties in this role will be to provide clerical support for the administrative and operational activities at the Health Services Division through completion of activities which support the functions of the electronic health records (EHR) project and business operations. You will use established methods to ensure accuracy of health record maintenance and filing, timely flow of written and verbal communication, compilation of statistics and reports, and records management.

Minimum Qualifications

Two years of general clerical experience that includes keyboarding, word processing, or other experience generating documents.

OR

An associate degree in any field.

OR

An equivalent combination of education and experience.

Requested Skills

  • Ability to lift and transfer boxes and equipment weighing up to 20 pounds.
  • Experience with records and information management, including reviewing records or documents for accuracy and completeness within established criteria.
  • Experience performing data entry, contacting customers to obtain information, and tracking and compiling documents.
  • Experience with problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Experience working productively with many priorities, competing deadlines, and assignments.
  • Experience in Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, Adobe Acrobat, and tracking or file management software.
  • Proficiency and accuracy while entering information into computer systems.
  • Quality control while working with physical and electronic records.

Working Conditions

The person in this position works in an extremely fast-paced, demanding office environment that requires the ability to independently identify and set priorities, adapt to rapidly changing situations and issues, multitask, and meet tight deadlines.

Subject to recall during emergency situations and assignment to any area of the department to provide necessary assistance in handling these situations. Position may require occasional travel in state vehicle to attend meetings and/or carry out agency business. May require overnight travel. Must have a valid driver’s license or be able to provide an acceptable alternative method of transportation.

The salary range listed above is for non-PERS qualifying applicants. PERS qualifying applicants may be eligible for an adjusted range to reflect an additional 6.95%.

The successful candidate for this position must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility.
