8720 Clinical Operations - Administration

While directly reporting to the Director of Clinical Operations, collaborates closely with clinical and non-clinical leaders to develop and execute strategic initiatives, manage resources effectively, maintain regulatory compliance, and support continuous quality and process improvement across hospital departments.

Compensation range $150,000 to $180,000 exempt annual salary

QUALIFICATIONS

License /Certification
Required: CA RN license

Education:

Preferred: Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field

Experience:

Required: Minimum of five years of progressive leadership experience in hospital or healthcare operations.

Preferred:

Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other performance improvement methodologies.

Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and hospital information systems.

Staffing office oversight, working knowledge of CA AB 394 , EMTALA, and Throughput.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Strong knowledge of hospital systems and operational best practices.

Excellent financial acumen and budget management skills.

Proven track record in process improvement and change management.

Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership abilities.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential

Strategic Planning & Execution

Assists with developing and implementing operational strategies in alignment with the hospital’s mission, vision, and long-term goals.

Supports strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing patient care, operational efficiency, and organizational growth.

Operational Oversight

Alongside the Director of Clinical Operations, oversees day-to-day hospital operations, including patient flow, staffing coordination, and resource utilization.

Monitors key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions as needed.

Financial Management

Provides support by preparing and managing operational budgets; ensures adherence to financial targets and cost containment goals.

Identifies opportunities for financial improvement while maintaining service excellence.

Quality & Process Improvement

Assists with leading quality improvement initiatives focused on patient safety, clinical outcomes, and service delivery.

Collaborates with quality teams to ensure best practices and evidence-based standards are consistently applied.

Regulatory & Accreditation Compliance

Ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as accreditation standards (e.g., Joint Commission, CMS).

Participates in audits, inspections, and readiness assessments.

Staff Leadership & Development

Leads, mentors, and supports operational management teams.

Promotes professional development, succession planning, and a culture of accountability and excellence.

Process Optimization

Analyzes operational workflows and identifies areas for increased efficiency, cost savings, and enhanced patient satisfaction.

Implements change management strategies to support organizational improvements.

Stakeholder Engagement

In collaboration with Director, serves as a key liaison between executive leadership, department heads, and frontline staff.

Fosters effective communication and collaborative relationships across multidisciplinary teams.

Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care and services appropriate to the population served on the assigned unit or work area.

$59.92 -$89.88
