Job Title: Section Leader Chemical Processes – Nuclear Facilities Submarines

Working location: Raynesway, Derby  

Grade: 9

We are currently recruiting for a Section Leader to join our Chemical Processes – Nuclear Facilities Engineering team for Rolls-Royce Submarines team based in Derby. The team are responsible for the through-life substantiation of the nuclear facilities on the licensed site. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to drive and lead a motivated team to deliver technically challenging work packages that are key to the success of the Submarines strategy.

Your needs are as unique as you are. What you will be doing: 

  • Lead a team of Chemical Process Engineers within Nuclear Facilities Engineering
  • Responsible for fostering a positive safety culture within the team
  • Responsible for the development of the team in line with their individual needs and the wider Capability Group
  • Responsible for the day to day technical management of the team
  • Responsible for the technical delivery of the teams work packages to time, cost and quality, in line with local processes and governance

  • Previous experience of managing a team to deliver technical work packages
  • Relevant experience in Chemical Process Engineering or an equivalent discipline
  • Ability to deliver in a complex technical environment with multiple stakeholders
  • Previous experience working on a licensed site
  • Chemical Process Engineering degree or equivalent

To work for the Rolls-Royce Submarines business an individual has to hold a Security Check clearance.  Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you do not currently already have this in place. 

Due to the nature of work the business conducts and the protection of certain assets we can only progress applications from individuals who are a UK national or, in MoD approved cases, a dual national.
