As the Network Engineer, you will configure, troubleshoot, and resolve network issues/outages, and provide preventative maintenance for the TTDN (Trans-Texas Digital Network) – the Texas A&M System wide area network program.
This role provides critical network support to members across the State of Texas including colleges, universities, and state system agencies. You will be monitoring and troubleshooting WAN circuits ensuring operational effectiveness, collaborating with members to inform and resolve concerns.
Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience
2 years of networking design experience
Knowledge of Cisco IOS and JunOS
Ability to travel and occasionally overnight
CCNA or JNCIA certification
SolarWinds experience
Knowledge of Windows Server
Knowledge of Linux
Knowledge of advanced IT and ITIL a plus
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others
Ability to perform intermediate troubleshooting and maintain client relations
Excellent written communication, analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills
Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications
Salary: up to $65,000 commensurate with education and experience
Location/Travel: In-person role in College Station, Texas with travel across State of Texas approximately once a month with occasional overnight required
Schedule: This role may require working outside of standard office hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to support the demands of technology services and ensure the seamless operation of essential systems.
Citizenship: Must be a United States citizen, permanent resident, or a person granted asylum or refugee status in accordance with 15 CFR, Part 762; 22 CFR §§122.5, 123.22 and 123.26; and 31 CFR § 501.601
