$79,493.01 - $127,797.27

Job Description:

This position is a Full-time Project position, working 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, primarily 8:00AM-5:00PM, on site in Chandler, AZ. This position is expected to last at least 3 months.

Summary:  This person assists in designing and implementing hosted, managed, and customer specific solutions. He/she will provide direct support to various client companies primarily within the Northwest.

General Description:  The Network Engineer III must be able to work effectively and efficiently in a fast paced office environment in meeting deadlines.  The Network Engineer III must be able to handle multiple priorities combined with frequent interruptions.  Organizational skills are essential and a sense of urgency, the ability to make good decisions, and the prioritization of tasks is necessary.

  • Has the ability to design complex networking and telecommunications systems for hosted and managed clients.
  • Performs data communication functions related to the design and implementation of hardware, software, and circuit facilities.
  • Designs, implements, installs, and troubleshoots FortiNet and Cisco network infrastructure including routers, switches, VPN, and firewalls.
  • Designs, configures, coordinates and implements telecommunications systems, which may include PBX, voice switching systems, voice processing systems (e.g. voice mail), the voice network, integrated work stations, telecommunications cable/wiring plans, and related products and services.
  • Responsible for the ongoing administration of voice technology and network systems to include telephone station hardware/software changes, voice system software upgrades, traffic analysis and reporting.
  • Analyzes complex hardware and software configurations. Requires the ability to organize and coordinate company team and vendor tasks.                        
  • Installs and supports remote sites including new offices; phone and network cabling; new networks including testing, implementation and maintenance.                     
  • Network and voice documentation to include Visio diagrams and support materials.                   
  • Secures quotes and bids from hardware/software and telecommunication vendors including securing contracts.
  • Manages network and data projects including site remodels for networks and phones, securing bids for equipment and managing timelines and implementation/installation.      
  • Manages LAN/WAN, voice, security and telecommunication systems for all companies and clients
  • Oversees and installs, configures, and maintains software and hardware for the LAN/WAN and voice data systems.
  • Provides strategies, long-term planning, and utilization of network and telephony systems.
  • Provides phone training, support or individual assistance to internal/external clients.
  • Implements and supports network security procedures.
  • Plans for hardware and software upgrades of LAN/WAN/TELCO systems.
  • Coordinates the implementations of new equipment for LAN/WAN/TELCO with internal/external clients and vendors.
  • Problem solves with internal/external clients, vendors, and consultants to provide the highest quality service and support for LAN/WAN/TELCO.
  • Pre-Sales support – discuss and/or present network ideas and solutions in an organized and clear fashion to non-technical clients
  • Other duties as assigned

Occasional regional travel, weekend work and on-call rotation will be required.

Qualifications:  

  • Education:  Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent experience
  • Experience:  Six years of related experience including--
    • Six years of progressively responsible network engineering experience is required.
    • Excellent communications, interpersonal and customer support skills.
    • Ability to document system solutions and follow outlined processes.
    • Configuring and deploying FortiNet network devices (FortiGate, FortiSwitch, FortiAP.)Experience with Cisco IOS including QOS, ACL, PIX firewall, Cisco VPN Concentrator
    • Experience with telecommunication equipment, data & phone cabling, network security, wireless technologies, and familiarization with all Windows OS
  • Previous Managed IT Services or Consulting experience (preferred)
  • Certifications: CCNA, CCNP, CCVP, CCIP, CCIE, FortiNet FCA Engineer (through NSE7) highly desired
  • Computer Skills: Experience with the following computer applications is highly desired:
    • ConnectWise Manage or like professional services automation (PSA) tool
    • ConnectWise BrightGauge or like business intelligence (BI) tool
    • IT Glue or like knowledge base tool
    • n-Able N-Central or like remote management and monitoring (RMM) tool
    • Solarwinds Orion or like network monitoring tool
    • Microsoft Products:  Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Word, Visio
