About The Team
Murdoch Active provides students, staff and the broader Murdoch University community with opportunities to engage in quality sport and recreation programs, facilities and services to support the development of each individual’s health and well-being. We deliver a range of programs and services through the Active Gym, Sports and Recreation Hall, indoor and outdoor courts as well as the external playing fields.
The objective of Murdoch Active is to plan and deliver sport and recreation programs that enhance the student experience, provide opportunities for students, staff and the broader community to represent and/or engage with the University and to maintain connections with the University.
Your New Role!
The Sports Official will officiate predominantly netball competitions, and a range of other Murdoch Active programs including Social Sports and other University sporting competitions. Officials are to engender a safe, competitive environment, whilst maintaining a high level of officiating to ensure safe and harmonious activity, as well as the integrity and longevity of the program being delivered.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
Officiate and umpire predominantly netball competitions,
Ensure safe and enjoyable social sport activity,
Comply with OSH principles with regards to playing facilities and conditions,
Provide efficient management of scores and results,
Effectively communicate with players,
Undertake other activities which might reasonably be expected to do and consistent with the accountabilities and responsibilities listed above.

This casual role attracts a competitive casual rate of $38.55 p/hr - $39.70 p/hr inclusive of 25% casual loading plus 12% employer superannuation contributions.
