About the opportunity
“Be part of a growing Multicultural Services Team that requires you to provide highly responsive interpreting services to consumers and staff.
Position Purpose:
To provide quality, ethical interpreting services which will contribute to better health outcomes for consumers with limited English proficiency
To produce quality, effective and accurate translated materials
To undertake health promotion activities which will assist consumers in accessing available services
To participate in all other relevant activities to enable provision of quality services and smooth operations of the department

To thrive in this role, you will have the skills and attitude to:
Provide interpreting services at consultations with health professionals throughout the hospital and satellite clinics as requested
Maintain an accurate record of bookings, including cancellations and rescheduled appointments, and document the outcome of each service request
Liaise with the Interpreter Bookings Coordinator in relation to bookings
Assist with the administrative tasks of the Booking Desk when back up is required
You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining:
A current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check.
Proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccination status consistent with public health orders.
