Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced IT Product Owner to oversee the development,

enhancement, and lifecycle management of our MXP cruise application. The Product Owner will serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, technology teams, and external vendors, ensuring the platform supports our operational goals, enhances guest experience and aligns with the company’s digital transformation strategy.


Essential Functions

Product Ownership & Vision

  • Define and communicate the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for MXP across reservations, embarkation/disembarkation, onboard services, and financial processes.
  • Partner with business leaders in Reservations, Finance, Guest Services, and Shipboard Operations to align MXP capabilities with organizational needs.
  • Function as the primary point of contact for MXP product-related matters.
  • Conduct product demos, training sessions, and updates for business and executive stakeholders.
  • Build strong vendor relationships (e.g., MXP provider and third-party integrations such as loyalty, CRM, finance, and port systems).


Backlog & Requirements Management

  • Own, refine, and prioritize the MXP product backlog in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Translate business requirements into detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, and workflows.
  • Ensure backlog items deliver measurable value and are aligned with regulatory, compliance, and maritime industry requirements.


Agile Delivery

  • Act as the voice of the business during sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Collaborate with IT developers, QA, and vendor teams to deliver incremental improvements within agreed timelines.
  • Proactively resolve issues, remove impediments, and escalate risks.


Continuous Improvement

  • Monitor MXP performance and usage to identify optimization opportunities.
  • Champion new features that improve guest experience, crew efficiency, and revenue growth

Competency

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Business, or related field

Skills & Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or IT Lead within the hospitality, travel, or cruise industry
  • Strong working knowledge of MXP is preferred; other cruise reservation and ship management systems may be considered
  • Solid understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies with proven backlog management expertise
  • Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional stakeholders across shoreside and shipboard operations
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Vendor management experience and ability to negotiate priorities in complex environments.

Work Environment

  • Hybrid, working in a typical office environment
  • The position is fulltime and frequently requires working additional time outside of normal business hours
  • Occasional international travel
