The Role

Macquarie University Health currently has an exciting opportunity for a highly organised Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) Coordinator to join our growing team. Reporting to the Director of Medical Services, this pivotal role will ensure the smooth and standardised coordination of MDT meetings across the organisation, supporting the delivery of patient-centred, high-quality care and facilitating collaboration between clinicians, researchers, and support staff.

You will play a key role in standardising meeting processes, improving the documentation and record keeping of individual treatment plans, and enhancing accessibility and compliance with Cancer Australia, Cancer Institute, Medicare, and National Safety and Quality Health Service standards.

Working across both our Hospital and Clinics, you will collaborate with medical, nursing, and allied health MDT teams, practice managers, and referring clinicians. This position also contributes to the development of new case conference standards within MQ Health, driving quality improvement, communication, and efficiency across multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Coordinate and document MDT meetings, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with organisational and legislative standards.

  • Manage case documentation and tracking within the electronic medical record (eMR) system and support follow-up of action plans.

  • Drive quality assurance, continuous improvement, and standardisation of MDT practices across MQ Health.

  • Support clinicians with MDT billing processes, provider number setup (PRODA), and ongoing billing data analysis.

  • Facilitate communication between multidisciplinary teams, patients, families, and referrers to support integrated, person-centred care.

About You (Selection Criteria)

You are a detail-oriented and proactive professional with a strong understanding of multidisciplinary healthcare coordination. You thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and have the communication, organisational, and administrative skills to ensure the seamless operation of MDTs.

You will demonstrate:

  • Qualifications in business/administration, health management, nursing, allied health, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.

  • Understanding of the Australian healthcare sector and the value of multidisciplinary team collaboration.

  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office Suite and electronic medical record/database systems such as REDCap.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with clinicians, staff, patients, and families.

  • Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

  • Experience supporting meeting coordination including booking rooms, managing technology, drafting agendas, recording minutes and following up actions.

  • Knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with healthcare billing processes.
