Boeing Commercial Airplanes Materials & Processes (BCA M&P) is seeking a Senior Nondestructive Evaluation (NDE/NDI) Technician for the Customer Support and In-Service team supporting the BCA fleet in Tukwila, WA.

The Customer Support and In-Service team consists of a team of highly skilled technicians and engineers who apply engineering and practical knowledge of materials, processes, and physics to developing and validating maintenance inspection procedures through research and testing to ensure safety, reliability, and adherence to regulatory requirements and specifications for airline and production partners.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Position Responsibilities:

·       Develops, authors, and implements nondestructive evaluation (NDE) inspection procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements

·       Conducts practical evaluations of NDE inspection procedures on aircraft to confirm feasibility, reliability, and compliance with operational requirements.

·       Participates in development and validation of NDE solutions—designing prototypes, conducting trials on components/aircraft, evaluating results, and implementing improvements.

·       Develops and maintains relationships with customers, stakeholders, suppliers, partners, government agencies, and peers to ensure products and services meet requirements.

·       Implements safety, LEAN, and quality controls during NDE testing, documentation, and equipment maintenance to minimize risk and optimize workflow.

·       May require conducting NDE tasks while working at heights or inside confined spaces, following all fall protection and confined-space entry procedures.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

·       Associate’s Degree or higher, a technical certificate or degree, or 6 more years of equivalent technical experience

·       Current or previously held ANST Level II or Level III certification or equivalent

·       Ability to work with chemicals, at heights, and in confined spaces

·       Experience with Eddy Current and Ultrasonic NDE inspections

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

·       Experience developing NDE inspection procedures

·       Experience with NDE inspections on commercial or military aircraft

·       Experience with LFEC and/or UT Shearwave inspections

Union:

This is a union-represented position. In locations where SPEEA representation applies, this job family will be covered by the terms of the collective bargaining agreement. Applicable and appropriate educational/certification credentials from an accredited institution and/or equivalent experience is required.

 

Shift:

This position is to support 1st shift, with some collaboration possible between 2nd and 3rd shift.

Summary pay range for (Experienced): $85,000 – $115,000
