The Role:

Our site in Chaska, MN is seeking a Mold Designer to join our team.

The Mold Designer is responsible for conceptualizing and designing injection molds, derivative injection mold components and various production / product fixtures.  This position requires a proven ability to develop tool (injection mold) designs that support the product development efforts of the Entegris Design Engineering teams.

HOURS OF THE POSITION ARE MONDAY-FRIDAY DAY SHIFT

What You'll Do:

  • Works independently with conducting analysis of problems and resolving technical issues and making decisions.

  • Manages and executes tool design projects, working with the Tooling Project Manager and Product Design Engineers. 

  • Applies tool designing skills, creativity, concept sketching, brainstorming, and aesthetics recommendations in a collaborative, professional environment. 

  • Leads tool design review meetings attended by internal customers and tooling vendors. 

  • Provides both basic and innovative design solutions on projects (depending upon application) that fall in the Entegris definitions of derivative and platform product development.

  • Reliably applies his / her tool design skills in procedures, techniques, tools, materials and equipment appropriate to workload and applications need.

What We Seek:

  • Machine Tool Technology or Mechanical Drafting AAS Degree and/or two years of Pro/ENGINEER and/or SolidWorks part modeling, assembly and drafting experience.

  • Knowledge of and skill in executing tasks in Creo and/or SolidWorks, CAD-CAM software: solid modeling, assembly, drafting, and machining modules. 

  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing; drafting and design requirements for a wide variety of materials and manufacturing methods. 

  • Knowledge of rapid prototyping /manufacturing methods and requirements. 

  • Mechanical aptitude; math skills; materials science with emphasis on the science of plastics.

  • Ability to demonstrate problem solving and trouble shooting skills.  Ability to read and understand work instructions and perform math computations and computer data entry. 

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs, climb a ladder up to 15 ft. and walk and stand as needed to perform the duties of the position.

  • Ability to visually detect quality defects. 

  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment for extended periods of time.
