Love working outdoors and being part of your local community? We’re on the lookout for a Meter Reader to join our Brisbane Southside team! In this role, you’ll enjoy flexible outdoor work—walking and driving through your allocated neighbourhoods while recording utility meter readings.

Hours: 7am–3pm or 8am–4pm, Monday to Friday
Location: Ipswich / Oxley and surrounds

No experience? No worries—we’ll provide full training to set you up for success. All you need is a positive attitude, a good level of fitness as you’ll be out and about — walking, driving, and exploring your allocated neighbourhood — reading and recording electricity meters.

What you’ll need

• Current valid driver’s licence
• White Card or willingness to obtain one (we can guide you)
• Ready to learn and work on your own
• Comfortable with walking, bending, squatting – rain or shine
• Able to travel up to 45 minutes one-way on a case-by-case basis, depending on the routes due for reading
• Positive attitude, great attention to detail, and a solid work ethic
• Live in Ipswich/Oxley or the surrounding areas. (but we’re happy to chat if you’re the right candidate from a bit further out!)
• Local knowledge of the area is a bonus – streets, shortcuts, and neighbourhoods will make your day easier

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately read allocated meter routes in a timely, efficient and safe manner
• Uphold the Service Stream safety standards and publicly represent Service Stream and our clients in a professional manner  
• Understand and ensure targets are met
• Ability to work independently but also work with other members of the team to achieve KPIs.
• Regularly communicate with office support team and your Supervisor on a daily basis.
• Upload/download route information to/from hand-held device
