Mechanical Designer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute Mechanical Projects: Conduct a variety of engineering tasks using current technologies to support project goals.

  • Analyze Technical Problems: Assess and resolve moderately complex mechanical issues by evaluating multiple factors.

  • Collaborate with Teams: Establish and maintain productive relationships with internal and external teams to achieve objectives.

  • Mentor New Team Members: Provide informal guidance and support to new engineers to facilitate their development.

  • Ensure Work Quality: Maintain high standards of quality in personal work and contribute to team quality assurance.

Key Skills:

  • Mechanical Design: Proficient in designing mechanical systems and components using CAD software, to create 3D models and 2D drawings of mechanical components and systems, adhering to industry standards and best practices.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to make updates to mechanical designs, ensuring alignment with project specifications, requirements and the production floor.

  • Work closely with electrical engineers to ensure enclosures and housing designs align with PCB layouts and electronic component placement.
  • Optimize designs for manufacturability, weight reduction, and cost-efficiency while ensuring compliance with aerospace regulations
  • Troubleshoot and resolve design-related issues during production phases.
  • ProblemSolving: Skilled in analyzing complex technical issues and developing effective solutions.

  • Technical Documentation: Ability to create and maintain detailed engineering documents and reports.

  • Project Management: Experienced in managing technical assignments and ensuring projects are completed on time.

  • Communication: Effective in conveying complex information clearly to team members and stakeholders.

  • Team Collaboration: Adept at working collaboratively with crossfunctional teams to achieve common goals.

  • Current Technologies: Uptodate knowledge of the latest mechanical engineering tools and technologies.

  • Analytical Thinking: Strong capability to assess data and situations to make informed engineering decisions.

  • Quality Assurance: Committed to maintaining high standards in engineering processes and product quality.

Other Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent;
  • Greater than 3 years experience as CAD designer
  • Must be eligible to meet requirements of Controlled Goods Program;
  • Ability to update/produce designs that fulfill compliance requirements.
  • Make improvements to production performance and techniques.
  • Manage and control BOMs accurately.
  • Up-to-date knowledge on CAD tools and deployment.
  • Auto CAD,  Solidworks
  • Experience detailed 3D CAD models and 2D drawings for PCB enclosures and housing assemblies using industry-standard tool is nice to have skill
  • Familiarity with aerospace materials (e.g., aluminum alloys, composites) and manufacturing processes (e.g., CNC machining, injection molding).
