Colonial Pipeline is the largest refined products pipeline in the United States, transporting more than 100 million gallons or 2.5 million barrels per day. Colonial transports various grades of gasoline, diesel fuel, home heating oil, jet fuel, and fuels for the U.S. military through a pipeline system. Colonial transports approximately 45 percent of all fuel consumed on the East Coast, providing refined products to more than 50 million Americans.

About the Manager, Technology Platforms Position

Are you a strategic technology leader with a passion for platform innovation and team empowerment? We’re looking for a Manager of Technology Platforms to lead a high-performing team responsible for optimizing critical software platforms that support the safety and efficiency of our operations.

As the Manager of Technology Platforms, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our digital ecosystem. You’ll lead a team of engineers and system administrators to configure, maintain, and enhance platforms like ServiceNow, SharePoint, and Jira, ensuring they meet the evolving needs of our business. What You Get to Do:

  • Lead, inspire, manage, and mentor a team of 2–5 platform professionals, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive Strategy by collaborating with Technology and Operations leadership to develop roadmaps and KPIs that align with business goals.
  • Optimize Platforms and champion configuration over customization to deliver scalable, secure, and user-centric solutions.
  • Innovate and improve by staying ahead of emerging tech trends and recommend enhancements that boost efficiency and performance.
  • Manage vendors, use licenses, and build strong relationships with platform vendors to ensure strategic alignment between vendor capabilities and Colonial's goals.
  • Represent and influence while being a voice for the company at industry events and forums, sharing insights and learning best practices.

What You Bring to the Table:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field of study from an accredited college or university; will consider a combination of experience and/or education. An advanced degree is preferred.
  • Ideally, 5+ years in platform development, preferably 7+, including 2+ years in a leadership or management role.
  • Experience with ServiceNow, SharePoint, Jira, Confluence; Agile methodologies, SDLC, cloud/on-premise development; Secure coding practices and AI-safe development.
  • Effective communication and analytical skills.
  • Strategic thinking and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Ability to lead change and drive results.
  • Preferred Certifications: SCRUM Master, Google Cloud Digital Leader, Generative AI Leader.
