What is the Opportunity?

The GRM Third Party Risk team is accountable for RBC’s enterprise-wide Third Party Risk (TPR) management strategy and framework, enabling RBC to identify, measure, monitor, and mitigate the risks associated with third parties. TPR works with Senior Management across RBC’s business platforms and functions, providing oversight and challenge to ensure effective implementation of TPR management programs in compliance with regulatory and policy requirements.  TPR also provides strategic advice, education, and key practices across RBC’s broader third-party risk management community. TPR is also accountable to provide insight on RBC’s overall third-party risk profile across the enterprise.

What will you do?

Manager, Third-Party Risk Profiling, joins a dynamic team focused on monitoring, oversight, and challenge of the business-segments’ TPR management and governance activities across the enterprise. The manager is responsible for:

  • Participating in the delivery of comprehensive, accurate, and timely reporting to senior management on global enterprise wide Third Party Risk;
  • Collaborating with colleagues to identify and design new key-risk-indicators (KRIs), enhancements to existing KRIs, and working with the Operational Risk Shared Services team to implement into dashboards, risk appetite measures, etc;
  • Assisting in the development of the Third-Party Risk data strategy that will identify how we manage, store, analyze and use our data to improve oversight and challenge and strengthen risk profiling.
  • Assisting in the development of Third-Party Risk reporting methodologies and processes to ensure that issues, risks and gaps are identified, reported, and addressed to enable effective overall profiling of third-party risks;
  • Conducting analytics to identify and assess trends and areas of deficiency.
  • Enabling data analytics in support of third-party risk thematic reviews being led by the TPR team; and
  • Providing assurance that existing controls are effectively managing risk (and new controls are effectively designed).

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • 2+ years of experience in progressively responsible roles in the financial services industry with direct exposure to operational risk management, the third-party risk lifecycle, enterprise-wide mandates
  • Established acumen to Governance-Risk-Compliance (GRC) through 1LOD or 2LOD roles
  • Strong reporting and data analytics capabilities
  • Advanced quantitative, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong understanding of the third-party risk governance framework and practices
  • Project management exposure
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient at manipulating large datasets, and the MS office suite of products
  • Effective story-telling skills – can translate data and information into insights and advice
  • Required:  Undergraduate degree in business, science, or engineering

Nice-to-have

  • Relevant risk Management certifications. 
  • A Graduate degree is nice to have.
