Position Description Summary

The Manager R&D Data Stewardship supports the implementation of data stewardship activities by maintaining data standards, monitoring data quality, and managing stewardship tools and documentation. Works closely with data owners, IT, and scientific teams to ensure consistent application of data quality rules and high-quality data management practices.

Main Responsibilities

• Maintain and update data dictionaries, metadata repositories, and stewardship documentation.
• Resolve data issues, discrepancies, and prevent duplication or corruption.
• Perform regular data quality checks, track issues, and support remediation efforts.
• Curate metadata and business glossaries to make data meaningful and discoverable
• Provide training and guidance on data management best practices.
• Provide end-user support for stewardship tools (e.g., metadata catalogs, data quality dashboards).
• Collaborate with IT and data owners to ensure smooth integration of stewardship practices into operational systems.
• Contribute to process improvements by identifying opportunities for enhanced data quality or efficiency.

Qualifications and Experience Requirements

• Knowledge of FAIR data principles and regulatory data standards is preferred.
• 4–6 years of experience in data management, stewardship, or related scientific data roles.
• Understanding of data quality principles, metadata concepts, and governance frameworks.
• Experience working with digital or scientific data platforms and basic data analysis tools.
• Strong attention to detail, documentation, and communication skills.
