Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for a Manager, Quality 2 to join the Quality and Mission Assurance (QMA) functional team providing support to the Linthicum, MD location.

The Manager Quality 2 is responsible for leading a team of Quality Engineers in the Advanced Microelectronic Center Cell.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Establish processes to develop, modify, apply and maintain quality evaluation and control systems and protocols, including advanced technology solution insertion, for processing materials into partially finished or finished product.

  • Devise and implement methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment.

  • Design and analyze inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment.

  • Conduct quality assurance tests, and perform statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications.

  • Lead effective root cause/corrective action teams, ensuring that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements.

  • Establish and maintain a budget for staff for various certifications and training required, including but not limited to workmanship standards, NDT, and internal auditing.

  • Effectively communicate and collaborate with various Site Leadership personnel to identify and mitigate quality concerns.

  • Effectively communicate with programs to ensure sufficient program allocations

  • Extensive technical experience to solve complex problems without appreciable direction.

  • Effective management of program allocations

  • Oversee the proper implementation and execution of Continuous Improvement programs.

This position requires a dedication to ethics and integrity, and the capability to innovate while challenging traditional ways of doing business.  Excellent verbal and written interpersonal skills are required.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 8 years of Quality experience OR Masters Degree with a minimum of 6 years of Quality experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of direct supervisory experience of people.

  • Experience generating resource cost estimates.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance

  • US citizenship

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Possess an ACTIVE Secret clearance

  • STEM degree

  • Prior Inspection supervision or Quality Assurance leadership experience

  • ISO9001/AS9100 auditing experience and/or auditor training

  • Experience with AS9100 Quality Management System certification process

  • Experience using SAP ERP and MES systems

Primary Level Salary Range: $123,400.00 - $185,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
