As a Manager, Product Manager - Technical at Mastercard, you are expected to perform the following general responsibilities:
Responsible for developing inspiring platform/product visions, derived from business needs, market opportunities, and technology trends
Using the Working Backwards method, decomposes business requirements and customer experiences into features and functions that drive the platform/product roadmap
Works with Technical Program Managers, Developers, UX designers, and internal customers to define the details behind the business requirements
Incorporating company strategy and technical standards into the work done by the team, showing how their work ties into the goals of Mastercard
Collects and shares user stories with engineering teams
Acts as the voice of the business customer and accountable for the platform services
Sets the vision and direction for sets of features
Leads individual contributors who are conceptualizing the one-to-two-year view of how the platform product portfolio solves business and customer needs
Exhibits expertise across multiple platform products and builds tight connections to resources to drive overall strategy and teams inside your organization while influencing those outside your organization to deliver the expected results
Dives deep into the work of your team and identify short-and-medium-term risks to platform product development and segment adoption, while proposing solutions to address them
Continuously monitors feature development and associated defects at the platform product level as well as runtime operational metrics for in market capabilities
Makes trade-off decisions as required and shares best practice with other Mastercard teams
Manage escalations, assess the alternative to resolve (path to green) and build a plan for resolution
Own and deliver on post-launch reviews and customer feedback, drives the associated actions, and incorporates feedback into the future launch plans
Engages with business customers to identify key platform product issues; solicits feedback on platform product roadmap
Leverage data analysis skills to research difficult or ambiguous problems, leading cross-disciplinary teams where necessary and communicating recommendations to senior leadership
Oversees team-wide product operations, leads junior PM-Ts who may own individual components, and coordinates team-wide improvement goals
Provides regular coaching and feedback to direct reports to help grow individual functional skills and leadership capabilities, with support from senior managers
Sets goals for individuals to achieve department or function level goals

Understands and can explain the business context and the associated customer use cases
Proficient at grooming user stories, setting entrance/exit criteria and prioritizing a platform product backlog
Continuously build a strong network of people across the company
Understands the technologies supporting the platform product and can hold your own in debates with other PM-Ts, TPMs, SDEs, and SPMs
Recognize discordant views and take part in constructive dialog to resolve them
Verbal and written communication is clear and concise
Improve team processes that accelerate delivery, drive innovation, lower costs, and improve quality
Demonstrates an understanding of our performance and leadership bar and effectively applies it to hiring decisions
Demonstrated experience as a people manager with the ability to attract, recruit, and develop technical talent
Bachelor's degree in software engineering, computer science, information technology or related discipline preferred, or equivalent work experience

In line with Mastercard’s total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Mastercard benefits for full time (and certain part time) employees generally include: insurance (including medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, disability, life insurance); flexible spending account and health savings account; paid leaves (including 16 weeks of new parent leave and up to 20 days of bereavement leave); 80 hours of Paid Sick and Safe Time, 25 days of vacation time and 5 personal days, pro-rated based on date of hire; 10 annual paid U.S. observed holidays; 401k with a best-in-class company match; deferred compensation for eligible roles; fitness reimbursement or on-site fitness facilities; eligibility for tuition reimbursement; and many more.
