The Manager of Laboratory Sales is responsible for developing and executing new business concepts that generate additional revenue streams for Cleveland Clinic Laboratories (CCL). This role supports Cleveland Clinic’s mission of putting patients first and delivering world-class care, while aligning with CCL leadership goals and strategic priorities.
This position leads the Anatomic Pathology (AP) and Physician Office sales teams—both high-performing groups focused on expanding CCL’s reach and strengthening partnerships. The Manager will help guide sales opportunities through the full process, from initial contact to conversion, supporting and facilitating the transition of accounts to Cleveland Clinic.
The role requires strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team toward achieving sales growth and service excellence. The Manager will regularly accompany sales representatives on client visits, providing support and fostering relationship development.
A caregiver in this position works days, 8:00am—5:00pm. This position involves limited travel outside of Ohio. The Manager oversees business operations nationally and internationally.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Develop new concepts under the direction of the Medical Director, Division Administrator, and Director of Sales and Outreach.
Train the sales managers on the product offerings and work with marketing to develop all the materials needed for the product launch.
Develop concepts which include a mix of co-marketed, co-branded opportunities as well as support and promote the expertise and reputation of Cleveland Clinic Laboratories and Cleveland Clinic.
Interact with all key internal and external stakeholders to pull through the action plan for all new projects and ultimately increase revenue for CCL.
Contribute to sales meetings, presentations and attend required training courses, recognizing the value of one's own contribution to those events.
Develop and maintain knowledge and experience of relevant laboratory methods and technologies.
Adhere to the Cleveland Clinic rules and regulations (i.e. written or implied) and any changes or introductions.
Travel approximately 50% of the time.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare, Education, Medical Technology or related field
Seven years of experience in a Healthcare environment with demonstrated success in sales, marketing or customer service
Excellent clinical knowledge in how laboratory tests support the diagnosis, prognosis and monitoring of patients with specific diseases
Excellent human relations, management, presentation and communications skills
Must be accountable, adaptable, flexible, creative, dependable, responsible and able to perform well within multi-functional environments and be customer-focused
Can manage several projects or tasks simultaneously and exercise appropriate judgment when prioritizing projects.
Can function and work in a diverse work environment while adhering to Cleveland Clinic and CCL policies providing direction to clients in a concise, sensitive, informative and professional manner.
Maintain a positive and courteous tone, particularly in adversarial discussions.
Keep abreast of regulatory issues, reimbursement issues, and service requirements.
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Master's Degree
3+ years of experience managing sales team with at least 10 direct reports

Physical Requirements:
Travel is required (50%).
Must have valid driver's license with four or fewer points and be able to drive.
Manual dexterity sufficient to operate office equipment.
May require extended periods of sitting, standing and walking.
Must be able to walk to conduct client visits and to attend meetings; must have normal or corrected vision to normal range. Ability to clearly communicate by phone and in person.
