What is a Manager of Gas Compliance?
The Manager of Gas Compliance leads our compliance activities surrounding federal and state requirements of the natural gas transmission and distribution system. This individual also serves as the Central Hudson liaison to the New York State Department of Public Service.
What does a Manager of Gas Compliance do?
Manages, executes, and provides oversight of Central Hudson Compliance Plan. This includes audits of construction, inspection, and maintenance activities affiliated with natural gas transmission and distribution pipelines
Provides oversight and management of the Quality Assurance Quality Control (QAQC) Program and plastic pipe fuse inspection program
Manages and executes the Operator Qualification Program, the Natural Gas Detector Program, and ensures compliance with the Public Awareness Program
Leads and executes development and continuous improvement of the Pipeline Safety Management System (PSMS)
Serves as Central Hudson’s Liaison to New York State Department of Public Service (PSC) and submits required regulatory reporting to New York State and PHMSA. Also ensures that Central Hudson is compliant with federal and state regulatory updates
Manages the PSC plan, record, and field audits
Leads and participates in industry meetings with the Northeast Gas Association (NGA) and American Gas Association (AGA)
Recommends and executes continuous improvement opportunities to enhance safety, compliance, and improve company culture
Provides support for storm restoration efforts
What does it take to be a Manager of Gas Compliance?
Required:
A Bachelors Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering, Business Administration or related field and 5+ years of gas industry and/or utility knowledge experience.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and multiple projects to meet deadlines.
Must have good communication skills to interact and present effectively in a multi-functional and diverse organization
Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and other software applications
Ability to handle sensitive and/or confidential documents and information
Must be proactive, self-motivated, display good problem-solving skills, have strong attention to detail, and work as a team player
Must have an ability to develop teams and drive organizational change to support continuous improvement.
A valid driver’s license
Preferred:
Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering, Business Administration or related field
Experience in Planning, Scheduling and Project Management coordination
