We are looking for a Core Project Development Manager to join our team in Calgary AB, Houston TX or Edmonton AB location!
In this role, the focus of this position will oversee the development and implementation of innovation strategies and projects in support of business drivers.

What You Will Do:
Protect and/or enhance pipeline/facility throughput and revenue.
Provide options that permit customer flexibility and follow ALARP principles for integrity driven projects.
Provide value to the BUs through effective deployment of capital
Ensure projects are appropriately derisked to set the Core Programs Execution team up for success
Visibly demonstrate and provide effective leadership for safety and environmental management supporting a zero incident culture.
Accountable for the quality, cost, scope and schedules of all work performed by development engineers, consultants and contractors.
Accountable for an effective transition from the development phase to the execution phase. Ensure that the knowledge of decisions, assumptions and execution plans (cost, schedule and risks) made during the development phase are supported by the project sponsor, accepted by the execution team and captured in a signed high quality charter.
Accountable for ensuring compliance with internal project development procedures as well as providing recommendations for improvements of same.
Accountable for driving strong engagement of people through meaningful IDPs, timely and effective performance conversations, appropriate competency based training and learning opportunities, and elimination of non-value work.
Accountable for effectively prioritizing work assignments and allocating resources while managing stakeholder expectations, establishing and adjusting priorities based on the department’s objectives and the enterprise’s strategic plan
Responsible for ensuring that throughout the development process, a high level of communication is maintained with both internal and external stakeholders.
Responsible for providing regular formal and informal project development reporting to Senior Management and stakeholders on assigned projects.
Responsible for ensuring organizational objectives are translated into the department’s activities
Who You Are:
PEng with 10 years related experience in energy sector.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proven ability to work with multiple stakeholders
Proven conceptual, relationship building and decision making skills
Proven people leader skills
Working Conditions:
Work performed primarily in the office.
Travel approximately 20% of the time.
Holiday and extra hours work as necessary may be required.
Numerous, often competing interests must be managed concurrently whilst negotiating/influencing within and outside the organization.
Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:
Grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.

Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
