About the role
We’re looking for a Manager – Cyber Network Secuirty to lead the team responsible for configuring, deploying, and maintaining critical security platforms, including proxy management, web application firewalls, and email security solutions. This role is pivotal within AGL’s Cyber Defence organisation and reports directly to the Head of Cyber Defence.
You’ll work closely with the SOC, Incident Response, and Data Protection teams, as well as partner with Security Architecture to provide operational insights for project delivery. Collaboration with diverse stakeholders and fluency in both technical and business communication are essential.
What you’ll be doing
Lead and enhance Network Security operations, including threat management, firewalls, proxies, WAFs, and email security.
Develop and implement strategies aligned with Cyber Defence objectives, ensuring robust security policies and procedures.
Drive adoption of new security technologies and proactively strengthen defenses against emerging threats.
Oversee incident management, troubleshooting, and risk mitigation for security platforms.
Provide inspirational leadership through team development, performance management, and resource allocation.
Collaborate with stakeholders and project teams to deliver operational insights and design feedback.
Champion continuous improvement, innovation, and availability of security platforms and configurations.
What you’ll bring
Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams while balancing operational and project priorities.
Strong technical expertise in network security practices, including firewalls, proxies, WAFs, encryption, and vulnerability management.
Hands-on experience with cloud environments (Azure/AWS), Zscaler solutions, and web application security.
Preferred experience with Akamai and/or Azure Web Application Firewall, as well as managing Azure or AWS environments and access control models; incident response and coordination skills valued, especially with organizations similar to AGL.
Expert in applying, maintaining, and improving network security practices, including configuration and use of firewalls, servers, and routers, as well as analyzing traffic using network management tools.
Strategic mindset with a focus on continuous improvement, innovation, and risk mitigation.
