What is the opportunity?
As Manager, Credit Structures, you will be a credit professional providing innovative credit solutions, professional value-added advice, and credit expertise to Private Banking clients in either the Signature or Private segment. You serve as the center of expertise for credit structuring and underwriting, manage portfolio quality and act as the primary liaison with Group Risk Management. You will be responsible for Private Banking client credit relationships and focused on winning as One RBC by introducing clients to the right solutions, partners, and capabilities at the right time.
What will you do?
- Deliver an exceptional client experience following all five principles of the Black Card Experience to deepen and grow clients’ credit relationships with a superior, professional, best-in-class credit experience.
- Through excellence in completing deep-discovery conversations with clients regarding their credit needs, analyzing the various options while leveraging the tools at your disposal and present solutions centered on credit advice.
- Structure and deliver innovative credit solutions that address client needs while aligning with RBC’s risk appetite and policies, while serving as the primary contact with Group Risk Management, ensuring well-structured and balanced recommendations.
- Partner with the Private Bankers and Relationship Managers to identify growth opportunities, expand wallet share, and deepen client relationships, leading the end-to-end credit process, from opportunity assessment and structuring to adjudication, ensuring efficient approvals, and timely funding.
- Ensuring credit and portfolio quality - proactively manage credit renewals by submitting files within deadlines and maintain credit and portfolio quality through a sound understanding of policy, lending guidelines and the client’s financial position.
- Collaborate with colleagues and internal partners to deliver seamless solutions that strengthen RBC’s competitive position.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- Undergraduate degree, ideally in Banking, Commerce, Finance, Business Administration, or related field or experience.
- Minimum of 5 years proven combined credit experience in personal and commercial banking, including an understanding of risk assessments, financial statement analysis, credit structuring solutions and deal presentations
- Proven ability to analyze financial statements
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to design innovative credit solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with clients and internal partners.
- Superior client relationship management skills
Nice-to-have
- Proven knowledge and understanding of RBC Private Banking financing products, credit/risk procedures, guidelines, and standards
- Masters in relevant discipline
