Job Description:

Position Summary:

This role is Responsible to provide strategic direction for retail operations, to ensure operational execution meets and exceeds company goals of sales, margin, and associate satisfaction. Responsible for Retail Fuel Centers fuel and inside sales and gross profits through the support of promotional strategies, category business plans and monitoring business results. Assist in developing budget/forecast for inside sales and margin and monitor results. Travel to Fuel Centers to support associates and ensure compliance. 

Here’s what you’ll do: 

  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with Direct Store Delivery (DSD) and other suppliers and negotiate on-going contracts to maximize all available vendor product trade funds. 

  • Develop talent pipelines and succession plans within retail. 

  • Ensure compliance of category business plans consistent with the company's overall goals (i.e. plan-o-grams, product selection, pricing, promotions, shelf placement, etc.). 

  • Maintain current knowledge of industry or local trends and best practices; make recommendations to improve current programs and processes. 

  • Responsible for providing support to Store Director on training, performance management and career development of associates, and developing/monitoring department goals. Develop and monitor department budget as required. 

  • Reviews profit and loss statements and monitor factors contributing to profitability. Reviews financial statements and trains store directors to read, understand and use the information to improve retail operations. 

  • Train and coach Fuel Center managers and associates on new processes, procedures and/or programs and ensure compliance. 

  • Work with Business Unit VP to create budget/forecast for assigned Retail Fuel Centers inside sales and gross profit; follow up to ensure budgeted/forecasted goals are being achieved. Analyze various reports (i.e. inventory, stock loss, vendor receiving margins, etc.) to assess performance versus business objectives for assigned categories. 

  • Support Fuel Center associates by providing merchandising plans, financial reports for review and store visits. Facilitate new store openings. Setup, develop and lead annual Quick Stop Manager meetings. Prepare and distribute on-going Fuel Center communications. 

  • Maintain company culture and promote positive work environment that fosters strong associate relations, as well as positive customer and community relations. Responds to inquiries or concerns from customers, members of the business community and associates. 

  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed. 

Here’s what you’ll need: 

  • Bachelors required or equivalent education/experience. 

  • Minimum of 5 years relevant C-Store experience.

  • Minimum of 2 years Field experience

The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate but may be high in distribution settings. Travel requirements vary by assignment.
