Role Summary

The Manager, Contract Administration is responsible for commercial contract drafting, contract administration, and execution of CSL Seqirus US Commercial contracts to ensure sales goals are met for US CSL Seqirus vaccines. The position reports to the Associate Director of Contract Administration and sits in the US Commercial Operations Team. He or she is responsible for supporting the offer development/contracting process from inception to execution. This includes but is not limited to preparing & submitting bid responses, redlining/drafting contracts & amendments, language negotiation, securing internal approvals, facilitating contract execution and retirement. He or she also oversees proper adjudication and implementation of all assigned commercial contracts. The Manager, Contract Administration works in partnership with cross functional colleagues, works collaboratively with Sales, and takes the lead in drafting and seeking approval of new contract language when necessary.

Role Responsibilities

Supports the offer development and execution of an overarching Contract administration process for CSL Seqirus US Commercial Ops

Maintains a repository of contracts with key information that allows contract performance analysis

  • Understands discounts, rebates, and other contract levers for contract strategy setting

  • Interfaces directly with Legal in addition to customer-facing and sales support function teams

  • Functions as content expert on US commercial customer contracts (GPO, IDN, PBG, Wholesaler/Distributor, and Retail)

Coordinates Contract Negotiation

  • Ensures that risks are mitigated and provisions are preferred

  • Coordinates post deal activities and maintains executed contract documents in approved repositories

  • Manages bid submissions and ensures they meet quality standards

  • Performs analysis for Sales Teams as necessary

  • Leads customer facing negotiations in conjunction with Sales managers

Contract Adjudication and Reporting

  • Contributes to on time reporting and payment of all fees and rebates on assigned contract portfolio

  • Co-develops procedural documentation including SOPs and documents methodologies for Model N reporting collaborating with post award colleagues.

  • Serves as commercial contract SME to other departments such as Finance, Sales, and Legal Teams and contributes to enhanced understanding of contract obligations and system requirements.

Supports submissions of bids and RFPs for CSL Seqirus US commercial business

  • Serves as point person for Sales Teams regarding bid submission information including pricing, product information, manufacturing, and legal entities for a variety of channels including but not limited to: GPO, IDN, PBG, Wholesaler/Distributor, and Retail.

  • Conducts quality check on drafts prior to final submission

  • Coordinates with other functions such as Finance, Customer Operations, Legal, Risk, Sales, and Demand Planning to collect required information and ensure risk to the company is minimized

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required or equivalent experience

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical/healthcare environment in roles involving proposal development, bid response, offer development, contract administration including writing contract terms and conditions, and contract adjudication.

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of commercial contract offer development, custom language, contract negotiations, corporate policies, and processes.

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and business acumen

  • Proficiency in MS Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint required.

  • Experience with SAP preferred

  • Experience with ModelN or similar Revenue Management system preferred

  • Influenza experience preferred; vaccine or similar pharmaceutical/healthcare environment

The expected base salary range for this position at hiring is $115,000 – $135,000. Please note this salary range reflects the minimum and maximum base pay that CSL expects to pay for this position at the listed location as of the time of this posting. Individual base salary for a successful candidate is determined by qualifications, skill level, experience, competencies and other relevant factors. In addition to base salary, total compensation for this role may also include incentive compensation.
