Job Description:
Baptist Health is looking for a Manager, Central Pharmacy Distribution to join their Central Pharmacy team in LaGrange, KY.
Essential Functions:
Partners with Director, Central Pharmacy to implement and execute strategic warehouse distribution initiatives.
Responsible for oversight of central distribution functions including receiving, screening, reviewing, scanning, distribution, packing, auditing and shipping medications to BH facilities.
Directs the orientation, training, and continuing education of direct central pharmacy staff.
Leads pharmacist and technician supervisor onboarding, ongoing development and trainings, and annual competency assessments.
Develops programs, goals, and objectives consistent with those of the Central Pharmacy Services Center’s overall strategic plan.
Maintains expert level proficiency with pharmacy automation and vendor systems.
Maintains proficiency with 340B program requirements.
Solicits feedback from team members and uses engagement surveys to address opportunities and create action plans.
Oversees the efficient use of automation technology on the distribution line, leading the pharmacy team to optimize processes, financial performance, safety, and quality of services.
Leads central pharmacy distribution team to coordinate services and replenishment.
Analyzes systems and operations involved with medication storage, preparation, and distribution to ensure cost-effective and optimal delivery to sites.
Serves as an expert and role model in the warehouse distribution workflow.
Develops and maintains expertise in operating automation and software systems used in prescription fulfillment and inventory management.
Oversees department revenue cycle management, accountable for pharmacy budgets.
Ensures compliance with Baptist Health policies, 340B program, accrediting bodies, FDA and manufacturer requirements or restrictions, and state and federal regulations.
Ensures adequate access, security, and documentation of order receiving, inventory management, and returns.
Ensures integrity of medications by assuring storage under proper conditions (e.g. refrigeration).
Monitors drug shortages and implements solutions to avoid replenishment delays.
Completes pharmacy enrollments with regulatory agencies, renewals, and maintains ongoing compliance.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree required.
Graduate of an accredited College of Pharmacy.
Current Kentucky and Indiana Pharmacist License or eligible.
Additional pharmacist licensure in non-resident states may be required within 6 months of hire.
2 years of job-related experience.
