ABOUT THIS POSITION
We’re looking for a highly technical and hands-on Manager, Application Engineering to lead a team of talented Application Engineers and QA professionals. This role is all about driving innovation, building award-winning products, and mentoring a team to deliver exceptional results. WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Manage day-to-day activities for the Application Engineering team
 - Handle People Operations responsibilities, including performance reviews and coaching
 - Plan and schedule projects, allocate resources, and ensure timely delivery
 - Motivate and guide team members through mentoring, counseling, and team-building
 - Coach engineers to help them grow into senior roles
 - Collaborate with Business Product Owners to define priorities and secure resources
 - Work closely with other Technology Managers and cross-functional stakeholders
 - Help set and implement policies and procedures for application quality, standards, and testing
 - Drive process improvements within the team and across Technology
 - Establish training programs tailored to individual growth needs
 - Provide guidance to Lead Application Engineers and support their mentorship efforts
 - Additional duties as assigned
 
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
- 7+ years of experience with Java or .NET
 - 7+ years of experience in industry standard relational database solutions like SQL Server or Postgres
 - Proven experience leading technical projects and providing mentorship to development team members
 - Strong unit testing experience
 - Excellent written and verbal communication skills
 - Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
 - Highly self-motivated and able to work independently or in a team
 - Experience building highly scalable software solutions
 - Subject matter expertise in at least one technical track
 - Proven ability to lead a team of 3+ members and manage multi-quarter projects
 - Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
 
Preferred Skills
- N-Tier and SaaS development experience
 - Prior experience as a people leader
