Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is looking for a Logistics Services Coordinator to support our Shipping Team located in Elkridge, MD.

You possess strong organizational, interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt well to changes. You enjoy working with others, but you are comfortable working independently as well. You are deadline driven and able to prioritize the work in a manner that allows you to meet and/or exceed stakeholders expectations.

This position is On-Site at our Troy Hill site in Elkridge, MD.

What You’ll Get to Do:

  • Perform a combination of manual and clerical shipping duties

  • Use a computer system for tracking, logging, verifying, and reporting

  • Follow shipping practices and procedures, transportation routes, schedules, and requirements

  • May be asked to pack or wrap items such as finished products, raw stock, assemblies, parts, building materials, office supplies, equipment, etc.

  • Verifies quantity, weight, and conformance of materials to stated identifications

  • Report on materials shipped by generating shipping documents such as commercial/government shippers, labels, and packing lists

  • Uses various systems to complete shipping tasks including but not limited to TMS, EEMS, PIEE (WAWF), DCMA eTools, and Ryder

  • Collects and reports on shipping area metrics

  • Works closely with other shipping personnel to coordinate the execution of on-time deliveries

  • Monitor and maintain the shipping areas records and reports including but not limited to real-time status reports, monthly metrics, and inventory

  • Coordinating with carriers and destinations to ensure timely pickup and delivery of domestic, international, and HAZMAT shipments

  • Coordinating large movements between sites such as antenna or vehicle moves

  • Setting up, tracking, and coordinating movements to other internal locations using STOs or Government Property requests

  • Collaborating with various programs and assisting with freight and shipment needs

  • Assisting with the export process and working with freight forwarders

  • Providing transportation and freight quotes

  • Ensuring that contractual transportation requirements are being followed for outbound shipments

Basic Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of 2 years of experience in shipping, logistics, or related field

  • Able to stand/sit for long periods of time

  • Ability to lift 35 pounds

  • Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret Level Security Clearance required

  • U.S. citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience coordinating freight shipments

  • Familiarity with SAP ERP2, WAWF, TMS, EEMS, and/or DCMA eTools

  • Experience with government and military shipments

  • Knowledge of export and international shipment rules/regulations

  • HAZMAT shipment certification

  • Past data collection and reporting experience

  • DoD contracts experience

Primary Level Salary Range: $50,882.00 - $121,755.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
