Serves as the primary contact and coordinator of services supporting individuals with Mental Health or Substance Abuse Issues in community settings. Coordinates and monitors the array of services and supports identified in each person’s Person Centered Plan. These interventions are strength-based and focused on promoting recovery, symptom reduction, increased coping skills, and achievement of the highest level of functioning in the community. Supervision is provided according to supervision requirements. Supervises and directs the work of others to provide quality services.

Education, Licensure, and Experience required for the position include:
Must be a Licensed Professional as defined by state agencies and service definitions. Certain services require additional training, experience, education and/or licensure.

Physical requirements to perform essential functions of the job included:
Regularly required to lift 10 lbs. Must be able to lift a minimum of 15 lbs. Must be able to pull minimum of 10 lbs. Must be able to squat, kneel, crawl, crouch, climb, and stoop. Must be able to regularly use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Required to regularly stand and walk. Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in CPR from the floor level requiring to work on hands, knees, bending, standing and lifting. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision. Must be able to talk and hear.

$3,000 Sign On Bonus

Salary Range: $68,000 - $75,000 depending on License and Experience

Schedule: Flexible, On-call expectation

Location: Community Based, covering Buncombe County

Calling all compassionate and caring behavioral health licensed professionals who are looking to partner with a community-based service provider offering mental health and substance use services where individuals live and work. RHA Behavioral Health Services is looking for a dedicated Assertive Community Treatment Team Leader to lead an interdisciplinary healthcare team providing support to individuals in residential, workplace and community settings. This position leads an ACT Team serving Buncombe County.

 
ACT Team Leaders Serve as the licensed mental health professional managing a team in supporting individuals with serious mental health issues in the community in which they live. They coordinate and monitor the array of services and supports needed to enhance the quality of life for the people we support.

Additional responsibilities of the ACT Team Lead include: 

  • Facilitating relationships and serving as a link between the team, the individual, natural supports, guardians, local agencies and the community
  • Minimizing the negative effects of psychiatric symptoms or substance dependence that interfere with the individual’s daily living and personal development, providing counseling
  • Supporting the team in providing the individual the development of various skill-building activities, including daily and community living skills, socialization skills, adaptation skills, and behavior and anger management
  • Overseeing a first responder on-call system available to individuals and/or his/her natural support network on a 24/7/365 basis
  • Performing Case Management functions of linking and arranging for services and referrals
  • Working closely with other clinical/professional staff to maintain communication and providing feedback, standardizing procedures and expediting PCP implementation

Our ideal Team Leader is a licensed professional who is an excellent communicator and listener with strong therapeutic skills who works well as part of an interdisciplinary team and runs open and productive therapy sessions. You must also excel at behavioral interviewing techniques to uncover service user needs and be able to anticipate these needs.

Additional requirements for the ACT Team Lead include:

  • Graduate degree in Counseling or a related field
  • Valid licensure to provide mental/behavioral healthcare in the state of North Carolina or Associate license that will be fully licensed within 30 months
  • Licenses include LPC, LMFT and LCSW (or associate/provisional level license )
  • Minimum 2 years experience working with individuals with mental and/or behavioral health issues that include writing person-centered plans, conducting effective group therapy and providing mental health diagnoses
  • General working knowledge of the human services delivery system in North Carolina
  • Valid driver’s license, auto insurance and reliable transportation
  • Ability to pass a drug screen and background check
  • Ability to lift between 20 and 50 pounds and meet the physical requirements of performing CPR and therapeutic holds
  • Employee supervisory experience preferred
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) preferred
