Summary

The Legal eDiscovery Specialist position will work with eDiscovery and cybersecurity stakeholders to manage the efficient and defensible eDiscovery and data lifecycle in support of legal, security, and compliance investigation matters. This position requires expert analytical and project management skills as well as in-depth expertise with technologies such as MS office suite, Relativity server and RelOne Legal Hold platforms. This role involves daily triage, interaction, and collaboration with various business functions which requires the Legal eDiscovery Specialist position to possess stellar interpersonal prowess and communication capabilities.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Oversight and administration of the BMS RelOne environment.
  • Management of corporate legal hold lifecycle.
  • Documentation and auditing of data preservation in support of eDiscovery.
  • Develop and maintain data map of applications, systems, and AI tools within the corporate ecosystem to enable Litigation team to identify and collect relevant information in response to complex legal requests.
  • Communicate practically and with business intelligence to various stakeholders including in-house and outside counsel and business partners.
  • Assist with ownership of eDiscovery mailbox including fielding questions and prompts from the business towards offering solution-oriented responses.
  • Work with IT stakeholders to develop and implement standards and requirements for end-to-end data life-cycle including archiving and defensible disposition.
  • Facilitate eDiscovery response to corporate transactions related to mergers, acquisitions, divestures including retention and expiration questions by the business.
  • Assist in the oversight of eDiscovery vendors including budgeting process.
  • Assist privacy, data monitoring, and records management teams on projects.
  • Effectuate ad hoc eDiscovery processes related to regulatory business needs.

Education/Experience/Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree with high academic achievement.
  • Extensive project management experience in eDiscovery setting.
  • Proficiency at multitasking and prioritizing in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated understanding of current eDiscovery and forensics practices, including the relationship between eDiscovery and related disciplines (Compliance, Records, Information Governance, IT, Data Privacy/Protection, Data Security)
  • Familiarity and working experience with PC and mobile device collection tools.
  • Familiarity and working experience with GenAI and Microsoft tools such as Purview and Copilot.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously from inception to completion and achieve goals while working as a trusted member of a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to offer improvements in policies and processes and execute on those improvements.
  • Must be detail-oriented, analytical, technical, flexible, self-motivated and big-picture minded.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to exercise business discretion and maintain confidentiality of sensitive issues.  
  • Capability to work as both a team member, meet team schedules, and contribute to the team's goals and objectives.
  • Actively participate in cross-functional meetings and provide constructive input to technical and enterprise eDiscovery and information governance policy matters.
  • Facilitate meetings, establish agendas, and document follow-up actions as needed.
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry greatly valued.

Professional Certifications

  • Relativity Certified Administrator (RCA) a requirement.
  • EnCase Certified Examiner (EnCE) or Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) certifications a plus.
  • Certified E-Discovery Specialist (CEDS) is a plus.

Compensation Overview:

Princeton - NJ - US: $94,780 - $114,845

The starting compensation range(s) for this role are listed above for a full-time employee (FTE) basis. Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility) may be available. The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills, where the job is performed, the employee’s work schedule, job-related knowledge, and experience. Final, individual compensation will be decided based on demonstrated experience.
