Learning & Development Specialist

The Opportunity:

As a Learning Experience Specialist, you’ll play a key role in delivering engaging, high-quality learning programs across the enterprise. You’ll coordinate Avantor’s annual learning portfolio—from enterprise-wide initiatives to targeted professional development offerings—ensuring each program is planned, communicated, and executed with excellence.

This role requires strong project management skills, creativity in learning activation, and the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams.

What we are looking for

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Instructional Design, or related field preferred.

  • Experience: 3–5 years of experience in Learning & Development, Instructional Design, or program management.

  • Must be able to communicate in English C1/C2 (Verbal and Written)  

  • Understanding of instructional design principles and exposure to digital learning tools (Articulate, Rise, Captivate, or similar).

  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, manage multiple projects, and maintain high attention to detail.

  • Strong communication, organization, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Experience with learning platforms (Workday Learning preferred), SharePoint, and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Familiarity with internal communication and engagement platforms (e.g., Viva Engage, Teams, or similar).

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to turn learning data into actionable insights that drive continuous improvement

How you will thrive

  • Coordinate the annual learning portfolio: Build and manage project plans for all learning programs, including enterprise initiatives (e.g., Required Training, Learning & Career Week), sales training, and open-enrollment offerings. Track timelines, align stakeholders, manage enrollments, and oversee learner communications.

  • Activate learning experiences: Partner with program leads to drive awareness and engagement through internal campaigns—using channels like Viva Engage, targeted emails, and digital content updates to promote learning opportunities.

  • Support content enablement: Translate outlines, storyboards, and facilitator materials into effective eLearning, microlearning, and on-demand content.

  • Enhance digital learning presence: Maintain and curate LinkedIn Learning paths, content libraries, and the Global L&D SharePoint site to ensure resources are current and accessible.

  • Coordinate miscellaneous cross-team reports: Collect and consolidate inputs from team members for monthly leadership reporting and project plan updates.

  • Support virtual learning: Provide technical, vendor and participant support for virtual instructor-led training (VILT) sessions and other digital events.

  • Evaluate and enhance: Consolidate learner feedback, survey data, and performance metrics and proactively monitor to identify opportunities for improvement.
