Sr. Project Manager
Position Summary
The Sr. Project Manager will serve as the primary interface between the AT&T Consulting Team, the AT&T Account Management team, the AT&T Consulting Team, other AT&T Teams, the customer’s teams, and customer-approved third parties on the assigned projects.
The Sr. Project Manager will work on a range of AT&T Consulting engagements (as per the requirements of the team), helping to deliver complex, time-restricted engagements across the region.
Scope of Work to Be Performed
The Sr. Project Manager:
Must ensure customer requirements are met by applying standard (i.e., Project Management Institute [PMI]) project management principles, supported by knowledge of ordering, provisioning, and installation processes for both AT&T products and its suppliers.
Must work with the standard AT&T Project Management Framework and deliver products and solutions according to AT&T Project Management best practices.
Will work under extremely challenging timeframes and pressure to meet customer deadlines.
Will proactively resolve issues that challenge project schedule, scope, cost, or quality and must manage changing needs and priorities of the customer or AT&T.
Will maintain identified, standard, and formal project documentation and will prepare executive overviews as necessary.
Will perform the following:
Discussing complex scope, issues, and analysis;
Taking minutes of meeting discussions;
Recording the actions and outcomes; and
Communicating them all to the appropriate audience.
Key Responsibilities
Directing the completion of activities to ensure complete success of delivering service to the customer, including:
Architecture design
Engineering
Change control
Operations acceptance
Managing all aspects of the end-to-end delivery of services to the customer as defined by the program structure
Ensuring on-time delivery of all needed documentation, building close relationships with other teams on the project and program
Developing and maintaining the project plan, migration plans, and all associated documentation
Delivering across multiple verticals and technology vendor solutions
Maintaining the Risks, Issues, and Actions Log
Directing security and/or network teams’ daily activities in accordance with the agreed project plan
Required Skills
Required Experience
At least 25 years in the IT industry
At least 15 years as a project manager or service manager
At least 3 years as a program manager, preferably with both Enterprise and System Integrators experience
General Abilities
Excellent customer interfacing skills and first-rate interpersonal skills required to work with other departments and/or subsidiaries and the customer to develop timelines for project deliverables
Ability to consistently demonstrate a level-headed approach, calmness, and a can-do attitude
Creative problem-solving skills and ability to offer alternatives that are customer-focused, strategic, and profitable for AT&T
Current project management certification (e.g., PRINCE 2 or Project Management Professional [PMP])
Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English
Business-level reading, writing, and speaking proficiency in one (1) or more of the following languages:
Mandarin simplified
Cantonese simplified
Japanese
Spanish
Portuguese
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, and PowerPoint
Ability to multitask and work independently with minimal supervision in a non-structured environment
Taking a leadership role and experience in managing resources across multiple time zones
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Being a self-starter with the ability to work in both a team environment and a standalone role
Working independently with minimal supervision
Having confidence to address senior management and notify them of outages in critical situations
Good experience in working within a change control-oriented environment
Solid knowledge of testing strategies and defining acceptance criteria
Experience in managing large teams of technical and non-technical personnel
Extensive proven delivery in global deployment of network and/or security-related projects
Specific Technical Skills
Experience in cloud application migration, specifically Sage ERP software or similar, with expertise in managing the migration from AWS to Azure
IT related Bachelor of science or Bachelor of arts degree
Desired Skills
Current Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundation Certification or relevant experience
1+ years’ experience in working on global security deployments
Understanding of security terminologies, frameworks, and processes
1+ years’ experience in delivering Unified Communications platforms and Managed Services and/or Mobility solutions
1+ years’ experience in service management delivery
Program management experience
History of managing both:
3+ large transformation programs (each delivering multiple streams) and
2+ direct project manager reports
1+ years’ experience in providing executive dashboards and reporting using both automation and efficient approaches
