We’re looking for a Lead Software Engineer to join us at Telia.
I’m Andrius Paulauskas, Team Manager for Ingest Platform & Integrations within Tech Content Quality. We’re on a mission to deliver Telia Play - a unified TV streaming product for our customers in Sweden, Finland, and Norway - while creating extraordinary experiences along the way. Backed by the strength of Telia, a climate leader in the Nordics and Baltics, we combine innovation, sustainability, and a passion for cutting-edge technology to help our teams thrive and keep our customers happy.
In this role, you’ll play a key part in designing and evolving our Ingest Platform & Integrations, which manages VOD, EPG, and event metadata across multiple providers. You’ll be responsible for improving workflows built on Apache NiFi, ensuring the quality and reliability of imported metadata, and driving technical solutions for complex integrations. A solid background in AWS and TypeScript is essential, and experience with large-scale ingestion platforms or metadata processing is highly desirable.
What you’ll do:
Lead the design and implementation of improvements for our Ingest Platform & Integrations, which powers VOD, EPG, and event metadata ingestion from multiple providers.
Define and deliver strategic plans for platform scalability, reliability, and quality assurance. Ensure robust workflows across ~40 adapters built on Apache NiFi.
Optimize and evolve our AWS-based infrastructure and event-driven architecture, applying best practices for performance, resilience, and maintainability.
Drive automated validation, monitoring, and error handling to ensure metadata integrity and platform reliability. Proactively address security concerns and establish robust processes.
Advocate for clean, testable code and guide the team in following best practices. Mentor engineers across locations and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Work closely with cross-functional teams to align technical solutions with business needs, contributing to the overall success of Telia Play and its customer experience.
What will help you thrive in this role:
Proven experience in leading technical initiatives and delivering platform improvements at scale.
Strong expertise in AWS and event-driven systems, with hands-on experience in TypeScript. Prior knowledge of Apache NiFi or similar data flow tools is a plus, or a strong willingness to learn NiFi in depth.
Solid understanding of metadata processing, system integrations, and quality assurance in complex technical ecosystems.
Ability to define architectural roadmaps and guide teams through successful execution.
Excellent communication and leadership skills to collaborate effectively across distributed teams.
Bonus points for experience with CI/CD pipelines and monitoring tools such as OpenSearch.
Join us to shape smarter living for people, businesses, and the planet!
