Job Summary

Provide leadership, supervise, and prioritize development activities and staff for an application area. Design processes and metrics for functional area. Work closely with architects to ensure proper system design. Ensures highest quality implementations from design through QA to production. Assist multiple team members and other project leads in the day-to-day activities related to project work. Perform forward thinking evaluation and research for new packages and releases.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities

  • Anticipates hardware and software design needs. Reviews packages and products to determine viability as solutions and fit for other areas.
  • Reviews technical design and specifications for business and functional requirements fit.
  • Supervises team developing (coding), implementing and maintaining tools/applications. Ensures team members are trained and cross-trained in areas of expertise
  • Evaluates, researches and makes recommendations for upgrades, patches and new functionality.
  • Ensures root cause analysis, metrics, and control processes and employed for defect resolution.
  • Leads development activities for a business application.
  • Assigns and plans resources for projects and RTS.
  • Manages resource expenses and capitalized labor budget and actuals.

  • Displays the highest level of critical thinking and analysis in bringing successful resolution to high-impact, complex, and/or cross-departmental problems. Makes prompt, sound decisions when faced with complex and often contradictory alternatives that result in successful outcomes.
  • Operates with considerable latitude. Situations may have little or no precedent requiring original or new concepts or approaches without guidance from others. Reaches decisions under conditions of uncertainty.
  • Develops or engages/directs others in developing innovative solutions to important, highly complex strategic and operating problems; cross-departmental considerations are often present.

Work Environment

  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
  • Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

Education and Experience

  • Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 8+ years of experience in a related field OR MS/MA and generally 5+ years of experience in a related field. Certification is required in some areas.

Lead Azure Integration Developer – Middleware

Job Summary

We are seeking a seasoned Lead Azure Integration Developer to implement scalable middleware solutions using Microsoft Azure. This role will lead backend development efforts across enterprise integration platforms, focusing on API Management, IPaaS, and .NET-based services. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and a passion for building resilient, high-performance systems.

Key Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • Experience: 8+ years of backend development experience with .NET and C#
  • Azure Expertise: Proven experience with Azure iPaaS services, including Service Bus, App Service Plans, and Azure Monitor
  • Integration Patterns: Strong understanding of IPaaS integration patterns, event-driven architecture, microservice development, and cloud-native design
  • Development Practices: Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and agile methodologies
  • Architecture & DevOps: Experience with microservices architecture, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and Azure DevOps
  • Database Experience: Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases in Azure
  • FinOps & Cost Optimization: Knowledge of cost optimization and observability best practices
  • Certifications: Microsoft certifications such as Azure Developer Associate, Azure Solutions Architect (preferred)
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication, leadership, adaptability, mentoring, and problem-solving skills
  • Infrastructure as Code: Hands-on experience with Bicep, Terraform for Azure resource provisioning and automation.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities

  • Develop and deliver enterprise integrations leveraging the Azure IPaaS stack, integrating with Oracle EBS, and multiple SaaS applications including Salesforce Sales and Marketing clouds, ecommerce, finance, and supply chain applications
  • Establish and lead standards for API development; develop and provide API templates
  • Help establish an API Developer Portal to promote publication and reuse of APIs
  • Help establish KPIs around uptime, performance, error rate, usage, etc. of APIs
  • Lead the design and development of middleware components using .NET Core, C#, and Azure Functions
  • Leverage Azure API Management for authentication, throttling, and governance of APIs
  • Collaborate with enterprise architects, DevOps, product teams, business analysts, QA, and end users to align middleware solutions with business goals and requirements
  • Utilize CI/CD pipelines to ensure efficient and reliable deployments
  • Ensure high availability and geo-redundancy of middleware services across multiple Azure regions
  • Set standards for and execute code reviews for Azure Middleware solutions
  • Participate in architecture of integrations
  • Act as a Functional Lead for Azure developers as the team grows

Additional Responsibilities (Enhancements)

  • Security & Compliance:
    Implement secure authentication, authorization, and data protection protocols. Ensure middleware solutions comply with relevant regulatory standards (e.g., GDPR, SOC, HIPAA).
  • Documentation:
    Maintain comprehensive documentation for integration processes, middleware components, and API workflows.
  • Performance Tuning & Monitoring:
    Conduct ongoing performance tuning, troubleshooting, and optimization of middleware services.
  • Testing & Quality Assurance:
    Develop and execute automated unit, integration, and functional tests to ensure quality and reliability.
  • Continuous Learning:
    Stay current with Azure platform updates, new features, and best practices. Promote a culture of continuous learning within the team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced Microsoft Azure certifications (e.g., Azure DevOps Engineer, Azure Security Engineer)
  • Experience with additional cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) is a plus
  • Experience mentoring and training junior developers
