What this job involves: This Laboratory Support Technician role combines hands-on laboratory operations with facilities management to ensure smooth daily operations in a scientific environment. You'll manage the complete supply chain for laboratory consumables, PPE, and equipment while maintaining strict compliance with safety regulations and industry standards. Your responsibilities span from shipping and receiving materials in accordance with US DOT and IATA regulations to performing preventative maintenance on laboratory equipment, managing chemical inventory systems, and coordinating glasswash and autoclave services.

What your day-to-day will look like:

Can perform shipping and receiving duties in adherence to US DOT and IATA regulations.
Reports abnormalities and unsafe conditions to lab management, which may include general lab assets and common lab spaces.
Supports laboratory equipment preventative maintenance as needed or requested.
Defrosts or decontaminates a variety of lab equipment as needed or on established schedule.
Performs eyewash station testing.
Supports and stocks the laboratory supply of consumable products, PPE, glassware, supplies, etc.
Consults with client on supply chain management.
Fulfills glasswash and autoclave requests.
Collects, transports and deploys lab coats on established schedule.
Proficiency with reagent management systems and chemical inventory management.
Documents maintenance activities and other work performed within Client’s CMMS system.
Follows JLL and BMS policies and procedures in escorting and accompanying vendors throughout secured spaces.
Complies with company policies and procedures and adheres to company standards and training requirements.
Complies with all JLL and client policies and procedures, and adheres to JLL company standards.
Assist in other lab services operations as directed or needed.

Required Qualifications:

At least 2-3 years of relevant experience in a laboratory setting.
Experience working with general lab equipment, inventory management and media preparation.
Experience with work order and inventory tracking systems (Maximo, SAP etc.).
Knowledge of MS Office suite.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively work with management and employees at all levels within an organization, including customers.
Clearly communicates with colleagues and customers, understands their goals and work priorities, and provides timely feedback.
Ability to effectively prioritize, manage and organize time.
Must be a team player, committed to customer service and working in a quality environment
Must have adequate skills to perform required job functions with minimal supervision.
The job involves field work requiring frequent walking, bending, stooping, reaching, lifting and carrying materials and equipment weighing 50 pounds or less, and pushing or pulling furniture weighing 50 pounds or more.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a life science, biology, chemistry or 3 years of relevant work experience.
Prior experience with a CMMS is preferred.

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM

Salary/Comp: $25.00 - $29.00 per hour

Estimated compensation for this position:

52,000.00 – 60,320.00 USD per year

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
